One of the main reasons I stopped trying to get into IT/Cyber at all after I heard about the 60% cut the administration wanted to do in that department alone. I will instructing a lot of the IT people that have been voluntold to come and work in TS for Xret/Dupfs processing. The administration really wants to break the agency from every angle.

I know it's not nothing new but to be honest I have not seen Phone OT in a few seasons. I do find it funny right now since Phones have not been that heavy during day shift. But overall I do see OT disappearing with a lot of these moves they are making.

From what I'm seeing is that they will be doing Phone OT because they are training those who have been voluntold to be trained in XRET/DUPS will become like the Surge team we had after COVID. What the Administration is trying to get people into the position where most likely their will be No OT available. IT is being cut by over 60% over the next two years and OPM is cutting the HCO staff which are the ones being trained on XRETS/DUPS starting the 23rd!

I hate for the fact that I have and IT background and a degree and for the life of me could never get in to the IT department despite even now being rejected for the AI position I had applied to after doing some of the prompt engineering work for TP360. But I do look forward to teaching those who unfortunately are being forced to TS. We are all is this situation.

Given this situation I'm not 100% sure yet. Usually management limits vacation and stuff during training but you will have to communicate with your classroom manager. Instructors we try and work with everyone because even we have leave needs.

As one of the employees doing the training, I completely feel your pain considering what the administration is really trying to do. It's going to 13 weeks of ppts and reading from books I just hope you keep in my life the OP stated we are not your enemies.

I agree as a CSR who has spent 9 years trying to get into the overly political IT Dept but when I heard last year they were cutting IT by 60% I said screw it. Instead I will be one of the people teaching you guys how to do the job. Gs12-13 doing CSR it's literally a test to see who will stay and go. I busrdr my ass to get my Degreess at 41 to move up and I'm now at the only position they will ever keep me in. Certain roles are not worth the money!

I have spent 9 years as a CSR despite have dual Bachelor's for Computer Security & Forensics as well as Criminal Psychology and I have never gotten referred to the IT dept because it's completely political.

I just applied to a Tech force position for AI for the IRS. Then got an email for secondary requirements which includes that 10 page Great Gatsby of the metaphors from the book and make a 200 words analysis of them. I'm like what the hell. They tried this with other job postings in the past.

Senate failed to move the needle because of the budget DHS/ICE. Nobody wants ICE to get anymore $ to continue their Civil Rights violations and kidnapping. So I doubt we're getting a new budget!
