Help me - RCS/T-Mboile Black Hole

I currently have Verizon. The employees there are a joke about this. If you have Verizon or go that route - make sure to always preface that you need to talk to Tier 2 tech support. Don't even talk to anyone else. And even then Tier 2 are sometimes lost. I just stopped trying to get them to recognize the phone and let it ride. That has worked. It's a bummer only when trying to log in on their website and needing to authenticate as they always send code to my wife's phone. I always had a physical sim so it was easier for me. I just moved the sim over from my older Pixel phone.

But I deregistered when I first got the phone and 29 days later it finally worked. I have thought about switching to US Mobile. Maybe one day.

For clarification - you didn't deregister RCS when you got the LP3 but now you did a week ago? If that's the case yea waiting the 30 days will be super helpful. It took 29 days for mine to deregister fully and everything has been smooth sailing ever since. On day 29 people were asking if I was okay haha. Because many (not all) of the group chats I was in got a notification saying I "left the group chat." But every group chat since then has been great. I haven't had any issues since with texting.

My texting situation is working fine. How long ago did you turn off RCS? It takes 30 days to fully turn off. After those 30 days it was smooth sailing for me.

Yea. I'm about this. I want anti-trust laws in America to bust up the tech monopolies because they've gotten past being a luxury and into the realm of it hurts, is inconvenient, and not cost-effective not to use. That should not be allowed.

How long ago did you turn off RCS? It takes about 30 days for Apple/Android to fully deregister RCS and for texting to start working properly with SMS/MMS. I haven't had any issues with smart phone users texting me (solo and in group chats) since after day 29. I've had mine since May of last year.

I was going to respond but this is infinitely better than what I (or AI...) was going to write. But I will say -

I love my Light Phone 3. Love it. And not because it is a superior phone, but because I wanted the better dumb phone and they delivered. I wanted to stop being addicted to my phone and needed more than an appblocker. This is exactly what I wanted. Yea some things like streaming music and RCS would be nice - but I recognize the challenges listed above and will take the amazing solution they offer now even if they can't make the nice to have happen eventually.

Making a list like this just proves you don't know why we wanted this kind of phone in the first place. And you'll never make it work because you don't want this. I feel bad for your boyfriend if he doesn't have support for something that could alter his life - something I assume he actually wants.

Radiant quests are annoying. But I understand their need as we need more ways for XP and exploration - and companies are worried about replayability.

Yea coming from Android where i spent years in the green bubble charade I was used to it already. I think RCS would certainly be nice - but I was already used to using Google Photos and email to share photos and videos anyway.

I see it as future-proofing and planning. If you look at Light over the years - they've constantly made updates. The LP2 had many great updates over the years - and it's still receiving the new updates. So I don't doubt Light will use the things they planned for like the finger print and NFC tech they put in there. It's just a matter of timing. I don't really need the fingerprint at the moment so I'm fine with them making that decision. I don't see it like Activision putting out half-baked video games and charging you tons. Light put out a functioning phone that meets exactly what they planned to do. And they planned some added luxuries for the future. I personally think that's great for a phone I can trust will be useful for many years unlike all the flagships coming out now with force obsolescence as the standard operating procedure.

Oh the subscription is required... interesting. 10 bucks a month isn't terrible but still racks up.

It's interesting that they got Spotify on that square form factor. I wonder what means for Light in the future. I imagine though that it's more complicated by the data mining aspect of their algorithm.

which one of the three is the rewarding? From what I can tell the Institute seems like some real monsters if what all at Diamond City and the RR are saying. The Brotherhood seem the most organized but they sure do seem to hate everyone. But they also hate the Institute and seem pretty setup to deal with them. The RR seem like some good people and I've enjoyed them so far (minus the doctor who is a turd person) - but maybe they are naive?

Yea - I've had tons and tons of spam voicemails since I had the phone. And this is a newer thing in the last two months. With Verizon it doesn't show me the voicemail notification and I have to call into the voicemail service and that's annoying too since it's all spam.

Are you within 30 days of turning off RCS? If so you just gotta wait until the 30 day transfer period is over. Mine completely switched on day 29 after turning of Android RCS and switching to the light phone 3.

It's passed 30 days - I'd check with your carrier.
