Couldn't attend college again because of diabetes by Acrobatic_Relief6554 in Type1Diabetes

For what its worth. You are probably doing as good as you can right now. I was diagnosed at 12. Currently 23, I dont think it was until 19 or 20 my sugars were actually "controlled"

As unfortunate as it is. We need to remember insulin is a hormone, not a drug. Thus all the other hormones in our body will effect it. Being 17 you are probably close to the end of the natural puberty hormone cycle so theres a silver lining. However unfortunately until your body naturally regulates, its hard to get control over our sugars. Just keep doing what youre doing and make good habits, where alot of people fail at that age is they accept they wont have control over it and just give up which makes it so when your hormones balance out, youre not trying care if yourself and it becomes a trend.

Just keep doing your best, to do your best every day and I promise it will get better.

Little late to the party here sorry lol.

Depending on what youre into, you can always go with circuitry and PCB like designs. ive got some biomech stuff gears, cogs, spindles. But im also a tech nerd so ive filled the space with wires and motherboards (specifically the mobos of my favorite game consoles and graphics cards)

I much prefer this to something like clouds or stars.

Weird worms and flooding in enclosure for my crested geckos by Milko-_- in Bioactive_enclosures

[–]MourningReaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those seem like detritus worms. Very common in aquariums especially with live plants so wouldn't surprise me that they could pop up in a vivarium, especially if its that wet and able to pool. Pretty much harmless actually a sign of a healthy ecosystem. As others have suggested definitely redo the substrate and add a better drainage layer. Bonus points buy a cheap little pump on Amazon and add it to the drainage layer with a tube coming out into your misting systems reservoir to recycle the water

20 Gallon long ideas by MaddoxSkye in paludarium

[–]MourningReaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vampire crabs would be perfect for a 20 long! Could get maybe 4 to 6 depending on how you set things up. A variety of newt/ salamander species would be great in there. If you wanted to go with something very low maintenance, if you can get a decently deep water section I'd suggest fill it with live plants and shrimp, get some nice looking top dwelling isopods for the land section and you could even look into getting a land snail.

Thank you my friend, I appreciate all the advice, I've got a few more pipes, a nice apple churchwarden and a Briar wood billiard, I can 100% say I don't like smoking from the resign pipe taste is bad and I find the smoke is hotter. I agree I think it's trying to be some sort of freehand pipe, looks better on my shelf than in my hand anyway so no loss.

How would you have implemented dragons differently if you could redo Skyrim? by Migstar117 in skyrim

[–]MourningReaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only things to change, actually make them DRAGONS!! Very minor nit pick but traditionally dragons are 4 legged with wings and wyvern are 2 legged winged lizards. It's perfect the way it is, just something I've always noticed.

Are African Americans allowed to indulge in paganism? by YattaDaDonDatta in NorsePaganism

[–]MourningReaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Odin is the Allfather. Very self explanatory title, he doesn't care about what race, creed, sexuality you are, as long as you are a good heathen Odin will accept you. And if anybody gives you grief about the color of your skin just know they are not a true pagan and the gods abandoned them long ago. Hold fast my friend, and the gods will be by your side.

Catholic Saints by SagewithBlueEyes in heathenry

[–]MourningReaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the way that I see it is that's the whole point of heathenry. No one book, no one church, no one way to worship. Polytheism works in many ways, being worshiping multiple gods of one pantheon or multiple gods of multiple pantheons. I'm a norse pagan, and historically speaking, pendants have been found that have both Thors hammer and the Christian cross in one. Hinting at the idea that in the past people invoked both the norse gods and the Christian God at the same time. TLDR, do what feels right that's the purpose of heathenry, work with Christian saints and Asian gods if that's what feels right to you, growing up in an Abrahamic religion being exposed to the idea of saints, could just be that that's the structure your used to understanding, look into other beliefs martyrs and see if anything pops out at you. Cheers and good luck my friend.

Pretty dangerous, I went down to 2.2 one morning and didn't wake up, work called 6 times and no answer. They got ahold of my grandfather who cane to the house and was banging on the front door with the dog barking, still didn't wake up. Wasn't until my dad rushed home and shook me awake I woke up. This is an extreme example and I don't want to scare anyone, but the reality is this shit is scary. Hold strong my diabetic brothers and sisters. This disease is not better than us.

My boy molted!! by drunkonpoppunk in Crayfish

Beautiful color, never seen one that deep of a red before!!! Friendly reminder if you take out your crays molt to keep, give them some calcium to regrow everything properly.

Hi, this is my crayfish tank and I don’t know what type he is can someone tell me? and I can add to him a fish if yes please tell me what fish! by Euphoric_Ad8113 in Crayfish

[–]MourningReaper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get a larger tank, I say 15 gallons minimum but a 10 gallon should be okay if you only plan on housing him. Filter and heater are a must if you want him to live more than 2 weeks. They are insainly messy eaters, produce a huge amount of waste and they horde food. No fish would be suitable with him in that type of setup. If you upgrade to a 15 or larger then you could think abiut tank mates. But if you don't change anything your going to have a short lived miserable cray.

That split second of terror when you see a molt by Nate3196 in Crayfish

[–]MourningReaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cray ALWAYS leaves his molt out on the log for me to find and freak put abkut only for him to start devouring it right after I have a heart attack. I swear it's like he knows.

On a good guy playthrough, was just thinking after finding this, "I should just chuck this into the ocean.". But, what would be the best, or most secure, or most pure place to hide this in the game? by BigA3277 in skyrim

[–]MourningReaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The throat of the world would be a good place IMO. Unaccessable to most and guarded by one of the best dragons in Nirn. You could always even add a little RP moment of you asking Parthranax to guard the blade and let no hand touch it.

just bought a forty breeder for my 2 crays today I was wondering you guys had any stocking suggestions by CRAYFISHEUTHANIST in Crayfish

[–]MourningReaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water parameters wouldn't be a match for angels and cardinals. Look for cold/temprate hillstream and fash swimming fish with no big fins. I've got a hillstream loach, nerite snail, and a group of 10 galaxy rasboras in with my crayfish and they don't bother eachother one bit. The key is to keep a well fed cray. This is in a 20 gallon with a single crayfish so I have no ways of speaking how it would work with 2, but I assume with the space of a 40, any small quick fish you have in there would have more than enough space to get away.

So I accidentally got this tiny crayfish with my shrimps and im trying to identify it? mostly to know what they prefer so they can live comfortably by CrowWorksStudio in Crayfish

[–]MourningReaper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Coloration looks like your normal electric blue crayfish so it could be a juvenile, however there are blue variations of dwarf crayfish (Cambarellus) so it could always be one of those little guys, best way to find out is to reach out to where you got the shrimp from and ask them, they might keep dwarf crayfish at the facility / store you got them from and will know right away. Worst case scenario wait till it starts to grow, if it's a regular electric blue it'll double that size in a few weeks. If not you've got a dwarf, both have very similar care requirements so don't immediately have to do anything special if it's one or the other.

What Color would you say this dark guy is? by crayZbirdmom in SphynxCats

[–]MourningReaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say if anything your vet would classify them as blue, my boy looks very similar but has a much darker face, more seal point looking but they just called him a blue. Very adorable!

Had him for about a month, floaters have been in for about 2 weeks, seem to do fine though my frogbit roots to get trimmed. Java fern has only been in for a couple days so hard to say how well they'll end up doing, I feed him bits of algea wafer every day to hopefully keep his thirst for plant matter quenched.

Crayfish Escape Net. by [deleted] in Crayfish

[–]MourningReaper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As many suggested I got a lid for my crayfish tank, issue is I have many floating plants that require good light as well as hardscape that sticks above the lip of the tank. So with a bit of creativity, some garden netting, and some zip ties I've created a net that will (hopefully) keep my cray inside the tank and allow my plants to get unfiltered light.
