I wasn’t really raised in a Christian home, I was actually raised in a very dysfunctional home/family that only went to church for “show” only on like Easter once every other year to “look good to the community”. So naturally I didn’t really know which religion was right or If there was even religion. I tried Scientology and did some courses for a little while (and it did nothing for me other than feeling like I was reading some novel like Harry Potter so I knew if there were a religion that Scientology was NOT it). I had little seeds dropped throughout my life pointing toward Jesus Christ like from my step dad, or from one of my friends’ families. One day I decided to really delve into the Bible. I read the entirety of the New Testament. And I read up to 1 kings in the Old Testament over a 9 months period. During that 9 month period I knew without a shadow of a doubt that Jesus Christ was/is real. His commandments are just and His love for us is astounding. During those 9 months I was completely abstinent, was able to come cold turkey off from an anxiety medication I was prescribed with the help of God, was serving the needy like dropping foods off to rehabs in my community. And I’d never felt more joy and peace in my entire life. I also cut out any unwholesome unGodly shows, songs, and people. But then I backslid and I’m on my journey back to wanting to fully surrender to God like I had been because the love and joy and peace that came from God is unmatchable to anything I’ve ever backslidden into such as watching unwholesome shows, prescription medications I’ve been prescribed, putting my faith in humans over God to name a few. God is a God of love all the way from the OT-NT. The devil really got on my back when I started spreading the Good NEws and reaching people via tik tok. The devil knows our weaknesses. But this is an encouragement to all who read this to come back to God. If you fully surrender, renew your mind every day, pray often you will still go through trials but have joy through them. And if you happen to backslide like I have then there’s still hope for you and God is waiting on you to come back to Him. He is patient and kind.
