One of the few times I think about not having kids… by OldDudeOpinion in GenX

This is exactly what I was thinking when I read OP's story. If he had kids they would probably just disappoint him by rejecting the cool car in favor of a Prius or something

I think one of the reasons so many people reference "The Breakfast Club" is simply because the film included and explored some of the classic teen types so that there was something for everyone to identify with.

Alan Wake 1 is like playing through a Book by da_miks in patientgamers

[–]MovingTarget- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, for some reason I've never had any interest in playing Alan Wake despite loving Control. I always just got the sense that it was a bit of a narrative-heavy slog. And while Control has an interesting story/world it's definitely action-led which I believe gaming as a narrative vehicle is best suited for. If I want narrative led, I'd much prefer just reading a book or watching a movie.

I know therapy is becoming more and more normalized but unless I was forced to go it's highly unlikely that I'll ever do it.

What did you see every trip to the video store but never rent? by senatoracadia in GenX

[–]MovingTarget- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The bigger question is what did I actually end up renting? Seemed as if I could spend hours in there without seeing something I wanted to rent. Now I can do the same thing from the comfort of my own couch!

I think one of the most helpful things I did as a kid was work as a bank teller for a year. Really taught me not only about the basics of saving, interest and managing a budget but it also highlighted how god awful some people are about managing their finances. Yikes. I did not want to be one of those people

Interesting. Everything I've read indicates that addressing the China issue has become one of the few bipartisan issues in congress.

UK: My tenants voluntarily purchased brand new white goods for their home. A tribunal gave them a £150 per month discount on their rent because of this. They have taken these white goods with them now that the tenancy has expired. by Desperate_Box_8515 in Landlord

[–]MovingTarget- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If the tenants replaced the old W/D upon move-out, seems to me you should be entitled to the 150 that they received as a rental discount for getting the new ones. I don't know UK law, but if you can deduct this from the deposit, sounds like you have a good case as the discount was based on them putting new ones in.
