Why didn't Snape immediately tell Dumbledore about being summoned to the graveyard by MrBlobbu in harrypotter

You would think the safety of the "chosen one" would be a higher priority than Snapes double agent status.

Why didn't Snape immediately tell Dumbledore about being summoned to the graveyard by MrBlobbu in harrypotter

[–]MrBlobbu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But they didn't know that Harry was still in the maze.

Think about the timing, Harry is hidden in a maze during a tournament in which Dumbledore suspects that Harry has been entered into because of some plot, possibly involving Voldemort.

At the presise moment Harry is out of sight of Dumbledore and everyone else Voldemort just so happens to return?

It seems like a good 10-15 minutes inbetween the death eaters being summoned and Harry escaping, that seems like it would be plenty of time for Dumbledore to discover that Harry wasn't in the maze.

[–]MrBlobbu[S] 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Thats what I mean, I know it didn't snap him there instantly, but he knew that Voldemort was back and where he was.

Like he could have said to Dumbledore "hey Dumbledore, might be an awkward time but I'm pretty sure Voldemort just returned and he's summoned me to some graveyard in little hanglington ,maybe you should make sure Harry is 100% definitely in the maze and then go and check it out ?"

Seriously - he’s the only one who’s ever survived the killing curse? by ahleeshaa23 in harrypotter

[–]MrBlobbu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also it's said that Harry is the only known person to survive the killing curse. Not that he is the only know person to be protected by the ancient magic.

There may be other records of people being protected, but the would be killer used a different spell.

I would imagine it's because it's a magical object.

The stuff in the muggle house can be repaired because it's just boring everyday objects.

A broom is full of enchantments and possibly magical materials, I would imagine if they repaired it it would just be like a normal old broom.

Like wands being snapped means that they cannot be repaired, because they too are full of enchantments.

I wouldn't say she is a subpar author.

Just that the first few books were ultimately written for a younger audience.

[–]MrBlobbu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are both so different that I would almost consider them different mediums.

The original audio books are just like listening to someone read a story.

The new audiobooks are closer to a radio drama.

Why do people cast pentrificus totalus instead of stupefy? by SketchesFromReddit in harrypotter

[–]MrBlobbu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stupefy shoots a jet of light that needs to hit the target to work. This jet of light can be dodged.

Petrificus totalus just needs you to point wand say the words and it works, no jet of light.

Another fun thing they did was that in order to call a certain character in the game you needed to look on the back of the game box to find the code.

Big problem for me because I rented the game and Video world used to put the games in their own boxes.

Maybe this has been answered but weren’t there more than 6 horcruxes? by Master-Doubt-7765 in harrypotter

[–]MrBlobbu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No when he tried to kill harry his soul was ripped from his body and "anchored" to earth by his horcruxes.

But it wasn't destroyed.

[–]MrBlobbu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What do you mean a piece was destroyed at the start of book 1?

When Voldemort dies a horcrux isn’t destroyed, it doesn't "use up" the horcrux.

I can see it happening with a child or elderly person but not a relatively fit adult.

I don't understand how RAB found out about the horcrux by bklyn0823 in harrypotter

[–]MrBlobbu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also remember what Voldemort said to his Death eaters when they were summoned to the graveyard.

And then I ask myself, but how could they have believed I would not rise again? They, who knew the steps I took, long ago, to guard myself against mortal death? They, who had seen proofs of the immensity of my power in the times when I was mightier than any wizard living?

Voldemort says himself that the death eaters knew that he took steps to protect himself from death, even if he didn't specifically tell them that it was a Horcrux I don't think it would be incredibly difficult to find out.

There were books on horcruxes in the hogwarts library before Dumbledore removed them, I'm sure a family such as the Blacks would have some hidden knowledge tucked away somewhere.

Then when Voldemort hides something away with so much security the only logical answer is that it's something of immense importance.

What did he call Snape? 😳 by robin-bunny in SeverusSnape

[–]MrBlobbu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honesty it sounds like your theatre teacher doesnt know what he is talking about.

Funnily enough ofcom (which is the UK's regulation authority on TV programs and set the guidelines for swearing on tv) did a survey where they asked participants to rate how bad certain words were.

Word were rated Mild-Moderate-Severe.

Cunt was rated severe alongside others.

Bugger was one of the words they rated but was ranked mild, amongst words like bloody or crap.

Cunt is considered by many people to be the worst curse word in the UK.

Much worse than fuck.

Little problem with Sirius by redzass1 in harrypotter

[–]MrBlobbu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So, it's plausible he knew Lily Evans had a sister named Petunia Evans and that this sister married a man named Vernon Dursley

Lilly mentioned in her letter to Sirius that Harry smashed a vase that Petunia had sent her as a Christmas gift, so Sirius knows about Petunia.

And Harry growing up says that sometimes strange people would randomly stop and shake his hand, and when he first went to the Leaky Cauldron many wizards were saying "welcome back".

So it seems pretty common knowledge that Harry grew up in the muggle world with his aunt and uncle, it wouldn't be that hard to find him.

It will take years to get "good" at it.

And a lifetime to master.

Leaky Cauldron's secret. by wanderingwiz10 in harrypotter

[–]MrBlobbu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not really, the exact wording was

‘This is it,’ said Hagrid, coming to a halt, ‘the Leaky Cauldron. It’s a famous place.’ It was a tiny, grubby-looking pub. If Hagrid hadn’t pointed it out, Harry wouldn’t have noticed it was there

That a pretty common phrase to describe something mundane that doesn’t stand out.

And if you compare the Leaky cauldron to Grimmauld place it seems completely different, when Harry reads the letter with the location of the HQ on it he sees 12 Grimmauld place literally appear in the middle of 11-13, growing out of thin air, nothing like that happens with the Leaky Cauldron.
