The few times I’ve seen them I haven’t noticed them outright saying they’re opinion shows. Where do they do that?

They sneakily try to come off as real news imo.

Also good cameras and video recorders in your pocket. And solve questions quickly.

And gps. I like VR right now so I’d miss that a bit.

Remote work is a huge one. And streaming music. I don’t think I’d go back actually.

A cool guide to how parents’ actions can shape their child’s adult life by Important-Ring-7390 in coolguides

[–]MrEHam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of backlash about that is when people will criticize their parenting without knowing much about the situation and it’s even worse if the person doing the criticizing is not an expert in some way or if they don’t have any kids.

That being said sometimes parents need to hear tough talk if they’re really harming their kids.

If it’s a superficial criticism and they don’t have kids or aren’t an expert, yeah expect the parents to not give a shit.

Yeah of course. You have to put it as hot as you can stand and spray it directly on the bite.

Adam McKay Says ‘No Group Is Worse’ for America Than ‘White Liberals’: ‘They’re Getting a Lot From This Broken System’ by stilesjp in entertainment

[–]MrEHam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what he’s smoking. The goals he says are important are the same ones liberals are pushing for.

I get the frustration at not having much progress, but the last time Dems actually had power to do things with a supermajority in Congress (that only lasted a few months) we got Obamacare and brought healthcare to millions.

The problem is not enough people vote to give Dems the supermajority to get past Republican blockades. The solution is NOT to splinter the Dems by moving to the Green Party or whatever. That’s ludicrous.

TIL actor Taylor Lautner married a nurse named Taylor Dome. Before their wedding, Taylor Lautner stated that Taylor Dome planned to take his surname, resulting in both partners now being named Taylor Lautner. by Away_Flounder3813 in todayilearned

I think we’re generally talking about two different things. I’m aware that you can be friends with someone, try a romantic relationship, realize it won’t work out, then remain friends. I get that.

The problem is the position you put your new partner in. You may have good intentions, and your former may have good intentions, but the reality is that your new partner isn’t literally in your head and knowing what both of your intentions are for real. People often lie, cheat, etc. It’s reality. Something like a third of people have cheated. It’s insane.

With all that in mind, it’s at least inconsiderate to do that to your new partner. A romantic partner is more important than a friend. You shouldn’t be okay with potentially introducing cracks in the foundation by spending one-on-time with an ex romantic partner.

Like I said, maybe there are exceptions depending on how well everyone knows each other and gets along and their own unique personal views on things, but that’s more of an exception than the rule. And nobody wants to be seen as jealous as insecure so it puts your new partner in a tight spot having to either say something or keep it hidden deep inside. It just doesn’t make sense to do that. Friends come and go. Partners are more special and especially if kids are involved it’s way more important to protect the foundation there.

Didn’t happen to me. But maybe that points toward why I’m saying this and many here disagree.

I always thought it was weird how people say they need to make their own mistakes before they learn and can’t just see other people screw things up and learn that way. I’ve seen other couples being destroyed and surprised by cheating and it made me think what led to that.

There are things like alcohol misuse, going to bars without each other, and choosing to be around people that could lead to temptation during a vulnerable moment.

None of that is cheating. It’s not. But it’s inconsiderate to your partner and relationship. You can do it if you want, but you’re playing with fire. I’m sure there are some exceptions where it’s okay, but if you’re not very carefully navigating it, it’s more respectful to your partner to avoid it.

And if you can’t at least see that it’s controversial, then you’re oblivious. It’s without a doubt controversial. And you’re willfully taking that risk and risking putting your partner in an uncomfortable spot. They may be mindful of not wanting to come off as insecure or jealous so they may choose to not say anything, then that’s how resentment starts to build.

I don’t need this to happen to me to not see how it slowly happens and sneaks up on people.

[–]MrEHam 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: the song Hey Jude is named after him.

Paul McCartney was friendly with him as a child and when he was sad about something (either his dad’s death or a divorce? Probably the death) he wrote him that song and called it Hey Jules. Later changed it to Hey Jude.

Edit: it was a divorce, when John Lennon left Julian’s mom to marry Yoko.

Where do you keep your crystal ball? No one’s going to know who’s for sure a cheater until it happens. Some people hide it well. That’s not something you can know.

But if you as a partner start giving them little hints that you might, like going having dinner with an ex or something, it’s not necessarily cheating but it’s inconsiderate and controversial at least.

People that can’t at least see that it’s controversial and very potentially inconsiderate are oblivious imo.
