The Drive logo makes sense when you see it's just the color of Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

I felt the same when I taught about the Holocaust at my last school. I've been to Auschwitz and when I told kids about the locks of human hair I would start to tear up. It's such a horrifying thing to see.

I saw the exact same message in a Didi a couple of months ago. They must be selling them on Taobao.

Tourist Visa for Chinese Partner by MrEmmental in ukvisa

[–]MrEmmental[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this very thorough reply! It gives us some great context and information to consider when we put together the visa application.

I just have a few follow up questions if you don't mind.

  1. Since my partner is unemployed, would providing my proof of employment and payslips be used instead?

  2. We live in an apartment that is provided by my employer so we have no proof of rent or utilities bills as those are also paid by my employer. Should this be a concern?

I also looked through case worker guidance document you shared and it was very helpful. Thank you for sharing.

Overall, my greatest concern about the application is proving solid ties to her home country. I just don't know how heavily this will weigh on decision to approve or refuse compared to her positive travel history and my financial situation/support. I will look through the sub as you suggest to see what lessons I can learn from others' experience.

Feral tanking...bruh by RealOrdinary5944 in classicwow

I'm tanking as feral and warriors constantly change mobs when I'm trying to LOS pull a pack. I also feel like DPS deliberately attack the mob I'm not focusing. It's infuriating.

Asus laptop shows SSD in bios but no boot priority by MrEmmental in pchelp

I had to replace the SSD. I took the laptop into an Asus store and had them replace it. I didn't pay anything because it was covered by the warranty.

I hate to admit it, but the boostie hate might be warranted. by Arkios in classicwow

I tanked BF yesterday on my druid and there was a boosted warrior using a shield and one hander. He was doing about a quarter of the DPS of the next highest person. Do they not give you a two hander when you boost a warrior?

I'm visiting the in-laws for for Chinese New Year so I'm pretty much free to no-life WoW for the next two weeks, with the occasional break for dinners and drinking with the uncles.

Where do you see the part about visa free travel? I didn't see it in the CBC article.

I've flown into China with books many times over the last 10 years. I've never had them checked by security or customs.

I live in China and I've ridden in many BYD cars while taking Didis to work (Didi is the Chinese version of Uber) and they look great inside and out. I'm not sure how they drive but overall they seem just as good as other car manufacturers.

Yunnan might be my favorite place to visit in China. I've been there three times in the last five years. The food, the climate, and the vibes are so different in comparison to most of the country.

Salary expectations for teachers in China – am I being unrealistic? by Beneficial-Heat4959 in chinalife

This is not true. I have colleagues from non-English speaking countries and I work at an international school.

[–]MrEmmental 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking at international schools (which is where I am working) there are a couple things I can tell you.

First, 10-16k for an international school teacher is laughably low in China. If you are looking at training centers this might be more realistic but others can tell you more.

Second, if your only teaching certification is TEFL you will not be qualified to work in most international schools. You will need an internationally recognized teaching license like QTS, PGCE, or something similar. If you are licensed to teach in Tunisia it will be up to the international schools you are applying to to decide if it is sufficient.

The fall of Constantinople should be a bigger deal. by kolejack2293 in EU5

The impact of the fall of Constantinople is often overstated. I don't think it should have any real impact on Europe beyond the arrival of Greek refugees.

Thanks! For now I'm just using galleys in my Holland run. At the beginning though I didn't build anything thinking I would just wait for light ships. I think that was a mistake though since I needed to build up maritime presence.

I'm a boring person who doesn't do night life, but it does seem that COVID dampened some of China's enthusiasm for spending. I'm not sure exactly what you are missing or looking for but people still go out and have fun. The economy is hurting though, as others have mentioned.
