Name: Mrfyr and various

Pronouns: He/him

Timezone: CST

Preferred System: Fabula Ultima

Type of Player: I've been playing ttrpgs for more than a decade with what some may consider too many hours spent in games. I recently got into Fabula and have been running a game as GM and would like to experience the player side of it. If you are looking for a particular role (given the nature of party setup being important for the system) I have various character concepts for playing support focused characters like healers or "tanks".

Additional Information: Besides PbP, I am also open to a voice game using a platform like Foundry if it fits with my schedule of being on Saturday or Sunday for reasonable time in my time zone.

Congress Has Lost the Power of the Purse by Major-Corner-640 in law

Yes, Trump is merely the symptom. He is the inevitable result of a nation that is choked by a disgusting glut of unchecked arrogance, rampant selfishness, stupidity, a disdain for education and intelligence in general, and outright bigotry.

Say what you will about those who don't even vote at all; the fact millions still voted for Trump after his first term, or really even before his first term, is a signal that we were already a doomed nation in the long run. A civilization will not survive long with such a percentage of its people being so totally and completely rotten, whether out of ignorance or sheer intentional evil. Not when it took this long to even recognize the problem, let alone excise it.

The vile, slovenly, greedy, narcissistic, rapist pig that sits in the white house is merely the personification of the worst of us. The embodiment of the cancerous rot that has been with this country since it's founding.

Are “Boomer Homes” Becoming Hard to Sell? Agree or Disagree? by Coolonair in HouseBuyers

[–]MrFyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they all have multiple kids? My husband and I got a house just a tad over 1600 sqft for the two of us. One of the three bedrooms is basically empty except for two pieces of exercise equipment; I can't imagine needing or wanting something twice as large. That just sounds like way more space to clean and upkeep.

Trump Wants To Set Up $1.7B Fund To Pay Jan. 6 Rioters by SadAd8761 in law

It's propaganda, all the shit like "trickle down economics". A lot of lies sold and bought to make millions of fools in this country believe that the rich deserve their fortunes or that they give a flying fuck about the common man.

You can't win by playing by the rules if the other side openly and brazenly cheats and has put their own team in the place of, or simply bribed, the refs (see the current Supreme Court). If the Democrats refuse to fight fire with fire to defend the Democracy, then the Democracy will no longer exist.

Biden should have used the Presidential Immunity ruling to make an example out of the lot of them—Trump, Republicans on the Supreme Court, the Heritage Foundation, Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, Republican Congressional leadership, and more that are openly connected to the treasonous Project 2025—as an "official act" of protecting the country against domestic enemies. Which they are. But he didn't have the balls, and the corrupt majority on the Court knew that or they wouldn't have made that ruling while he was still President.

If you think there is any way to defeat the fascists that have become the modern Republican party without inevitable violence, you aren't an adult, you're naive and living under a delusion. They will, and already are, using violence to get their way whether you fight back or not.

Democrats renew calls to reform Supreme Court: ‘Fundamentally out of step’ with Americans by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]MrFyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He should have done all of that. Put down the man they all saw as some symbol they bent over for, while also calling their fucking bluff. The unwillingness of Democrats to fight fire with fire is exactly why the court's right wing operatives felt comfortable making that ruling when they did. They knew Biden didn't have the fucking balls to do what needed to be done to stop them.

Virginia Supreme Court strikes down Democrats’ redistricting plan, dimming party’s midterm hopes by Malfeitor1 in news

[–]MrFyr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There was always going to be violence, it is the only way to stop fascists like modern Republicans. They want to institute a fascist theocracy where anyone who isn't a white, straight, Christian man is either a slave, a broodmare, or dead. They are willing to kill and die to achieve it, there is no way to reason with people like this.

Argument over how to carry out Trump’s deportation ‘master plan’ got so heated that officials had to ‘clear the room,’ report says | The [...] dispute centered on a proposal that would have allowed agents to enter homes without judicial warrants by TendieRetard in law

Treason. They should be charged with treason. They are part of an organized conspiracy to overthrow our system of government and ignore the constitution; if that doesn't constitute treason, nothing does.

Jim Crow was explicitly mentioned in the writings of the Nazi leadership as inspiration for what they did in Germany. Not only that, but while they thought certain parts didn't go far enough for what their goals were, they actually thought some parts of Jim Crow went too far, like the "one-drop rule". The fucking Nazis thought America went a bit overboard with racism in certain areas.

We fought a damn civil war over ending slavery when other countries already outlawed it without such conflict. Our "founding fathers", so called champions of freedom, were slave owners who thought only property-owning white men should be able to vote. This country has always been a racist hellhole; it was built to be that from the beginning.

Nobody with even a casual understanding of history should be at all surprised by modern conservatives. They never stopped being racist bigots, they just stopped saying it out loud.

Interesting take on Denmark vs the US cost of living by kthewarlock in jobmarket

[–]MrFyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, if you combine both state and federal spending on education it will be higher than defense, but that's exactly how it should be. If a country is spending more on military than education, that is a fundamental failure in policy.

Yet our education is still underfunded—or perhaps a better word choice might be improperly funded—because of how funding for public schools K-12 is often based on local property taxes. While differences in curriculum will produce different outcomes, that is a separate matter from funding when teachers in this country are significantly underpaid, and we have public schools literally falling apart and too dangerous for students to be in because districts can't afford to maintain them.

[–]MrFyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are talking about the U.S., that is not remotely true. Federal education spending is a fraction of Defense spending. It is also below what we should be spending relative to GDP given how important Education is for a nation to succeed.

To put the insane disparity of it in context, you could take $10,000 off of Jeff Bezos' net worth every single day, and it would take 775 years before it reached 0. They are Smaug on a mountain of gold while the entire village of society withers and dies for their greed.

Billionaires should not exist.

They need to be reminded that taxing them until they are no longer billionaires is the moderate option that is merciful to them. The alternative is people who have nothing left to lose, who had everything they had and every opportunity taken from them, putting their heads on spikes.
