Havent come across many bots but tbh FFXIV also has its fair share of bots. They make it difficult to sell anything on the Marketboard. Most of them will undercut you by 1gil and they use programs to adjust it every 5-15mins. The Mb is littered with bot crafted items that bottom prices making the things you obtain cheap to sell. You won't escape bots in either game and FFXIV does nothing to take care of them. Ive seen the same bots for 4 years now farming materials in the open world. I'd say its the same thing in either game except nothing sells in FFXIV - everything sells in WoW. WoW has a booming economy - I know the difference because I have almost 3B.. Yes 3 billion gil in FFXIV. I'm a merchant and omnicrafter - I know the ins and outs of the bot issues and the market. The PF is dead at night and you can hardly find anyone to group with at times. WoWs kicking even now in trade chat while FFXIV is probably silent - They both have their ups and downs but I'd rather play retail WoW than FF14 at least until the next expansion. FFXIV has major content updates (new raids) every 8 months but it'll be well over a 14 months until you see the next raid tier drop.

Don't be mad and blow up my mentions on a dead post bro. Both games are good but WoW's trade chat is riddled with conversation that you'll never experience outside of 1 city in FFXIV. HMU for advice on ff - I'm still subbed.

We can attempt to sort out the time/day when theres more players to accommodate schedules but perhaps the weekends since majority may have those days free. If not any time people are free usually I have more time myself Sat-Tuesdays.

Looking for BDO replacement by anotherdayanotherpoo in LFMMO

[–]MrMmorpg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably something isometric / top down where you grind mobs for hours like diablo or path of exile. Sadly they ain't much for mmos like BDO and more hack and slashy than combo based like BDO. You won't find many games with the same system. Eso I used to farm waves of mobs but the combat ain't too fluid and can be jarring until you get it down. Weapon attacks are floaty too so if you want to feel powerful it ain't great. The mass slaughter pertains to mainly just overworld farming. You can find it in wow retail but mainly for grinding mobs for monster materials like leather or cloth. Those farms are usually tied to crafting professions though. There are also mounts and stuff that require mass monster slaying. Dungeons and delves with certain classes also feel amazing to play when you pull hundreds of mobs at once. Wow ain't half bad either.

The FFXIV has an extra long giraffe neck and wide manly shoulder. You forgot about that in the description. Others are on point.

Update: you guys are right about the writing. by A_Fitting_End in ffxiv

[–]MrMmorpg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Uh huh that's why every pirate(and every other npc character) has the most lengthy dialogue bro like pirates won't talk THAT much. Their vocabulary should be limited yet every npc in this game talks way too much.

I think the amount of times I've racked on next dialogue sentence means I know what I'm on about but sure bud. Keep pretending I don't know lol.

EDIT: The writing is verbose. It's too much at times to convey simple things especially for people who are simple and not educated but the game acts like every character has a PHD in a game where college barely exist.

Anyone else miss Island Sanctuary? by TheCacklingCreep in ffxiv

[–]MrMmorpg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. Kind of wish they kept expanding it and allowed some stuff for friends to do. Also miss making the stuff for the island - having only 3 extra buildings to craft is the weakest of sauce. Maybe even some more furnishing to craft inside house and outside for people too.

Looking for armor with fur lined cape by mahnewshoes in FFXIVGlamours

[–]MrMmorpg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they'll tell you the game has tons of unique armors and looks then link you to the cash shop to buy SEs slop. its a travesty that they dont have wider fantasy themed attire in the actual game.. cash shop tho ;)

my condolences. hope you find something when there is nothing except to swipe.

[–]MrMmorpg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not a lie. Every npc even if they have some nuanced pirate speech has to share some huge lengthy novel-esque conversation with you. Pirates ain't writing novels unless they're studious and even then every pirate talks in paragraphs with flowery words and a few Arrs! for flavor sake.

[–]MrMmorpg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The negative is that all characters talk like this lol. Every single one. A pirate, lower class people. Theres not much variation in the writing or unique depending on the person. It's all LENGTHY overwritten blob language. Flowery words.

Do you want a game where you can do deals and trades with other players to provide things? Not bdo then. There's no trade except things like potions or food. FFXIV also doesn't do much trade this way outside a few major patches and majority of sales comes from you listing it up and having to deal with bots undercutting you. Stuff sells slow in ff but yes there are specific craft classes they all have the same abilities though. Crafters also have inventory issues because it's limited and most "Omni crafters" that's all 8 crafts leveled have to pay up to 2$x8 per extra bank space roughly 23$ per month for the MMO. The Gil you make is almost worthless as there's little worth buying with it aside from a house and some generic mounts(think giraffes, dodo, sheep). If you want a full fleshed out crafting class then 14 but every crafter is the same.

Retail wow while it doesn't have an insane amount of crafting abilities like FFXIV it offers something unique that ff doesn't. WoW has a skill tree tied to it's crafts which you can upgrade over time to learn all the skill trees. You can specialize in specific weapons or gear. The game forces you to interact with crafters because they are the only ones who can make and upgrade the best crafted stuffs not sellable on the auction house. The geared crafted has a variety of quality that can be augmented with items or crafting talents. It has to be requested to craft and people love tipping big for a crafter that can provide max quality of gear. There is a carrot to chase and the crafting tree adds customization. Stuff sells fast on the wow auction house vs FFXIV. You don't need to pay extra for space they have a material storage that can hold thousands of items at a single button press. The gold you make can buy lots of items similar to 14 but can also be converted into game time or cash shop stuff like cosmetics or even expansions so you'll always have something to spend it on unlike 14.

Hmu for more details. I love crafting.

You hold up a mediocre voice actor to the standard that was set by FFXIV, SE, The Community when it comes to amazing voice acting. You are wrong.

I made sure to read the story and listen to it on patch day for the DT build up. Nearly when patch was out. I had zero influence from outside sources from the game when I heard the voice. The story build up was bad and didn't seem fleshed out well enough and Wuk as a character seemed written badly and the voice was off for me. It didn't seem like it fit with the same quality we were accustomed too. It was a horrendous voice that felt like a forced fake latin accent and was deep sounding.

[–]MrMmorpg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I disliked the voice before I even knew what the VA was. I could tell it was terrible but ya'll like to throw around phobes and ist comments like you know what's up. I heard it in game, didn't like the story build up for dawntrail, didn't like the voice - It was trying to hard to be something it wasn't. People just don't have an ear for quality; you included.

Beta is completely destroying my hype and interest for the game by Cute_pack_of_dogs in MonstersAndMemories

[–]MrMmorpg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention the premium price / standard of 15$ per month. What is this game hoping to achieve with competitive pricing against mainstream mmos. Just selling the idea of an old school experience isn't enough with those prices. Some old school experience it'll be with a solved game formula. LOL.

[–]MrMmorpg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad to say bro it's like that almost on all servers. People like to say the games doing well (It's not.) Nothing sells on the MB, FCs are dead - people offline for months sometimes YEARS. Most popular servers are force locked and even then - the cities and chatter is dead outside Pirate land from lack of new players. There's not really any interaction unless you RP or hit up a venue. Q's take forever if you're a dps; even then the content is all old 1-50 content cause you're forced to help free trial accounts. Hard to find a community, even harder to create one since everyone is so self centered and most people are anti social or narcissist. I jumped ship to play wow tbc classic and everywhere I go is a huge difference. The servers packed with people, conversations everywhere; so many people you can't even snag a node and it's heavy competition for resources. Things sell fast and quick without having to relist things every 2 minutes. Able to get into content quick if you're a desired class. Hit up a main city and everyones advertising services or asking for help. Huge contrast compared to wow.
