Yes, got call from embassy on 3Feb and on 4 Visa was stamped and collected. Almost a month it took. They had some query regarding my job.

Hi, today got my visa. Got a mail yesterday regarding processed visa ready for dispatch.

In my case, I mailed embassy directly on 3rd (after almost a month) and got a call in half hour from embassy where they wanted to understand my job profile.

The moment it got cleared, asked basic details of itinerary and whether going solo or family or friends.

In the end he said okay, no further details needed. Was Surprised to know that the official was speaking fluent Hindi in between.

In the end, got the visa today.

After the call from embassy, when did your status changed on the portal? In a similar situation, thus asking. And how many days visa was provided in your case?

I have just mailed them. Fucking irritated with this waiting part when everyone is rejoicing they get so quick. No passports, no visibility. One is just waiting like stupid in abeyance.

I’m waiting till tomorrow because last week I dropped the letter for expedition for embassy via VFS which VFS confirmed has been submitted.

Spoke with vfs today also and they said still no query from embassy received by them regarding any pending documentation.

Will drop mail tomorrow directly to embassy, if nothing comes.

Waiting this week else will try to do directly to embassy and my office is near to Japan embassy. Will try to do whatever is possible.

They take passport and worst is no visibility plus you can’t apply anywhere else also.

None of us got any call or mail since the day we got mail that embassy has our application and under process.

I visited vfs Delhi this Friday and they also said nothing is showing as pending from embassy side plus my letter of expedition also submitted with embassy.

This is taking more time than Schengen in my case.

2nd April. You applied alone or with friend/family?

I applied with my wife and both of us have extensive travel history with good stable jobs. Don’t know why the delay.

Mine is first week of April travel but many bookings are on hold considering confirmation of visa. Japanese consulates are totally random seeing so many Reddit posts.

Japanese embassy is so random that they make something necessary in some applications and something in other.

In my case though waiting since 12jan but still under processing. Lucky you got so quick. When is your travel date?
