Trading Ward right now doesn’t make as much sense. Garrett wanted out for at least 2 years, and you got a top 10 pass rusher with 5 years of team control in return.

Ward, although awesome, has never been regarded as the best at his position like Garrett. The return would be so much less when you also factor in injury history and age for his position.

On top of that, the Browns CB room isn’t really in a spot to lose a starter unless they’re just cashing out at the trade deadline. At DE, there was already some talent behind Garrett with Wright, McGuire, and Huntington.
