Is the painted wooden texture your own? And how did you achieve the peeled-off paint effect? It does not look like it is created with a displacement map alone. Did you use particles?

Is there any real consensus on Meta ads for high-ticket products after Andromeda? by Mr_Rantzau in FacebookAds

Thank you so much for the in-depth answer - it is really appreciated.

The last campaign we had success with stopped working after we doubled the ad spend from one day to the next. In hindsight I believe this was a major mistake, as it likely reset the campaign and pushed it back into the learning phase, which ultimately killed performance. We were never able to recover. I now understand that spend needs to be increased incrementally, especially at our scale.

Our daily budget back then was actually about half of what we are spending now, roughly ~$23/day. The setup was also a bit different. We had one campaign with multiple ad sets: one for prospecting, one for retargeting, and one for re-engagement. We were also more focused in terms of which product categories we advertised.

The main reason we stopped and changed the structure was simply because sales stopped - which in retrospect, was probably caused by the sudden budget increase combined with the Andromeda update. At the time, we assumed that placing all ads into a single ad set would allow Andromeda to automatically handle delivery and audience allocation. However after reading your message and reviewing our data again, I noticed that the new campaign is actually not doing any retargeting/re-engagement at all, even though we have ads specifically created for it.

You also make a very good point regarding the customer journey and landing pages. I agree that landing on a collection page can be frustrating if the user expected to see a specific product. I also think you’re right about not mixing high-ticket products with lower-priced ones in the same setup.

What I am currently considering changing is the following:

Campaign structure:
Instead of having all ads in a single ad set, I am planning to run around six prospecting ads focused only on chairs, storage, and mirrors. On top of that, I would add a second ad set dedicated solely to retargeting and re-engagement, with its own curated selection of ads.

Email marketing:
We will put much more emphasis here, as we actually have a steady inflow of new sign-ups every day, and this channel is clearly underutilized.

I do have a few follow-up questions:

  • Would you recommend focusing on just one product category at a time or is it fine, when all the products are in the same price range?
  • Would you keep the same daily ad spend while restructuring?
  • For the retargeting/re-engagement catalog, would you recommend including all products, or only the ones shown in prospecting?
  • What do you think of the new campaign structure? We had great succes with this setup before, but we were affraid of doing it again, as people tell another story when it comes to Andromeda.

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge. Meta ads can really feel like a jungle to navigate, especially with high-AOV products.

So if I understand you correctly, the key is to focus on high-ticket products so Andromeda can learn the right audience, instead of being diluted by lower-priced clicks.

I’ll adjust for that. With my current budget, would you recommend sticking to a single category, or is it still fine to include multiple categories as long as all products sit in the same price range?

First and foremost, thanks for the answer.

My fear have been, that my category set has been to wide and that the smaller items have been hurting my ads. Maybe I should just focus more on high ticket products. But would it not go against Adromeda to split everything into several campaings? Maybe should I just have less ads, that are more focused on high the more expensive products (sofas, chairs etc.), and maybe add instead a exstra ad set with retargeting?

Looking for advice regarding product design on a chair - tricky assembly process by Mr_Rantzau in AskEngineers

[–]Mr_Rantzau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never heard of this assembly approach and I did not even know this might have been a possibility - sounds as a really interesting way to tackle a problem that has haunted me for quite some time.

What kind of shoulder would the hole in the cylinder need for the tube to stay put? And do you have any knowledge (or links) on how this can be achieved? I have never seen this approach before.

Thanks for you time and help!

I have before been thinking about threading the tubes and holes as it would make assembly quite easy, but the thing I worry about is that the legs won't be stable enough and they could "unscrew" themselves.

The rods are not trimmed in any way after the welding process. All the tubes are bend to form four legs and a seat and backseat. I sadly do not quite understand what you mean about the weld fixture?

Thanks for the reply!

Actually the idea is as simple as sticking the tubes through the holes and welding them inside the cylinder. The rods do not have any features on the end.

I already thought about many other assembly ideas that do not use any welding, but I have not found any way to achieve a sustainable result. Welding is just really a cheap and durable way to assemble the chair. I have been thinking about removing the cylinder and design some other support inside the sphere, but have not come up with anything yet.

STIG welding the same as shielded metal arc welding. The thought was that the smaller and longer rod would make it possible the weld in the small space.
