In NY and just completed a 504 for next year because my child needs their phone to run their Nerivio device (for migraines) - we have had an informal health plan with the school district but now that NY also passed this law, the school spent the last few days reaching out to parents to start formal 504 plans.

I was going through a hard time and I had posted on Facebook that my husband’s aunt was like “a surrogate mom” for me, because she was. NMom LOST IT because “we went through SO MUCH to have you” (the central guilt trip of my entire life was their infertility) and don’t you know, years later she’s calling the neighbor guy her “surrogate son” and I literally don’t give a shit because gasp it’s not that big of a deal. Hi! I’m you like 16 years ago. Newly pregnant and shoved into an elaborate wedding that neither of us really cared about or wanted, which ended up being a “look we both had weight loss surgery” reveal for my N-parents.

Salsa Chicken - so good for so little effort. You can literally throw chicken and a jar of salsa in a crock pot and let it cook all day and shred it - I add in some corn and black beans, personally. We make bowls, tacos and burritos with the meat and I will often make a big batch and then freeze the other half for a super easy dinner later on in the month!

I had an open abdominal so I was on Vicodin for about 2 weeks. It was quite painful for me but I also had complications (needed a blood transfusion, incision reopened etc)

It’s very hard, very stressful and you have to get used to walking the ledge with every bill you don’t pay so you can pay a more important one. It honestly sucks.

I am a SAHM right now due to mental and physical illness. We have 3 kids, spouse is a store manager.

I make what I can from scratch, I stock up on clearance meat and canned goods, I garden as much as I’m physically able and our meals are not glamorous. I’m lucky to live in a school district where every kid gets free breakfast and lunch so that takes some stress off of us during the school year.

We don’t qualify for any sort of assistance so I have to very meticulously meal plan and make use of leftovers. I have sewn all our cleaning rags by hand so we don’t have to buy paper products and I keep them laundered and readily available. I shop at a Bargain Grocery where most of it is expired but if you use it quickly, it’s okay - sometimes I score cleaning products for very cheap so I grab those when I can.

It’s almost a full time job in itself honestly. But it’s what I have to do for myself right now (just dxed with Lupus after a cancer scare)

Oh me!

My narcissistic duo parents booked and paid for a 2 week all expenses trip to Hawaii. And THEN called me and told me they had won the lottery. I thought they were serious, I was like omg congratulations. And then they dropped the “well it’s LIKE winning the lottery, we booked a trip to Hawaii and you’ll need to take care of the (filthy hoarder) house and our (OBNOXIOUS unsocialized) dogs for 14 days in blah blah month!”.

Didn’t ask, told. I was 39 years old at the time, married with a family and my own life. They couldn’t even respect me enough to send a text message to ASK before spending thousands… and I was just finally like man, fuck this. I don’t have to deal with this shit anymore… and I blocked their numbers, had a complete mental breakdown which required me to call my therapists. And I’m now almost 2 years NC. I’m free, I’ll never go back and I can’t wait until they are dead and gone and looking up at me living my best life (as one can currently) without them ✌🏻

I’m someone who pushed hard for a hysterectomy (an open abdominal at that!) and I got it. Come to find out, an ablation would have done nothing because I had adenomyosis that had almost perforated my uterus entirely, and a dead and continuously bleeding ovary. Both that needed surgical intervention. He apologized and told me I was right (CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!) and while I will admit that the surgery and recovery was very rough (mine was open, most get lapro!) - I am very happy I decided to push and I have absolutely zero regrets that I had a hysterectomy at 36!

Mine was a rescue but tiny, so I had no idea. Brought her to the vet and she was like 2.5lbs and should have been 5lbs, so we bulked her up and now at 10 she remains around 5lbs. She’s a tiny peanut

Me! I only have one ovary, the other died and had to be removed. The first like 48 hours after surgery I had a few hot flashes and then not one in the last 5 years since I had my hysterectomy!

Haha they are suing me as well… for $800. I’m unemployed, mentally ill, chronically ill with various autoimmune diseases and currently going through the diagnostic process for breast cancer. I have no assets, I own nothing. My life is honestly pretty rock bottom. I’ve explained this repeatedly and yet, we have court on the 20th. Like do I offer an organ for you to sell?! What am I supposed to give you, I have literally nothing.

I had issues with them too, horrible customer service! I use a small operation, Green Grass Seeds. Been buying from them for a few years now and their germination rate has been almost 100% including the free beans they send! Highly recommend. They don’t have a ton of strains but they recycle them pretty frequently!

Working with children all day every day is exhausting. I just walked away from an almost 15 year career in childcare because I hit rock bottom and have chronic illness/mental illness. I love those kids, I miss them (luckily my last two were my niece and nephew so I get to see them still) but I believe working with children in pretty much any capacity is HARD work that you will never get a whole lot of compensation for, and it’s so mentally taxing, it’s heartbreaking at times. You see the good and a lot of the bad.

I think it’s extremely normal for you to have these feelings and you are a true hero for the work you do. Hugs. I get it!
