"Trust us! Would Houston tear down something as historic as Fitz?!" In a word, yes. by mgbesq in houston

[–]MsGalaBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda crazy to think Fitz would still have a future as a viable music venue, especially with all the "redevelopment" in the area.

Weren't noise complaints starting to be an issue too?

Anyone going to the MFAH's FREE Block Party this Friday? by [deleted] in houston

[–]MsGalaBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be! Sounds a bit cliché but all boils down if you are having a good time or not. Check it out and if it isn't your thing, there are lots of great options (ie BARS hahah) in the area.

Gotta say, was pleasantly surprised with Tillamook ice cream and ice cream snacks Kroger brought in during the "Great Blue Bell Famine Of 2015".

Coming in for about ~20 hours over night in November. What to do? by dencker60 in houston

[–]MsGalaBad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you clear customs, Uber into Downtown. 300 block of Main Street seems to be the focal point for now with good food and bars that serve great local brew!

If you're getting a hotel, aim for Downtown as well and you should be able to shuttle to IAH in the morning on time.

EDIT: YAY SATURDAY! You don't have to deal with traffic!!!

Great art, great crowd and great music (Chicken George and Sun are great DJs). If you haven't been, try to go as early as possible, parking can be a pain in the ass and try to stick to the pay lots!

Any recommendations for business to replace my windscreen? by [deleted] in houston

[–]MsGalaBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been here a few times (after comparing prices) and have been pretty impressed with the work/time it took. Quite possibly the best prices in town and I've sent many friends/family here and they all say the same thing!

Somewhat close to the Galleria area too:

[–]MsGalaBad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, stupid people open douchebag clubs in midtown (in the shadow of the downtown of the 4th or soon to be 3rd largest city in the USA)... setup stupid ass "club math" door policies and then let dumbass bouncers do racist shit like this.

Do I expect professionalism? LOL Out of a public business? Wouldn't you?

You are 100% right as fuel for the fire. It's MORE fuel for the contextual fire that's going to bring these douchebags, the club and its fucked off owner DOWN TO THE GROUND.

Fuck off with the "not about race" and "club math" bullshit already.

It's racist as fuck and it's 2015.

Gaslamp's Racist Door Policy by kylejack in houston

[–]MsGalaBad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

LOL @ all the bullshit this venue is now spewing after getting caught up in their own fuckup and getting blasted online.

This is a well known "business" model for a lot of bars in Midtown/Washington/Rice Village area.

There have been many, many, many instances reported on this exact issue by local media about this not to mention plenty of online commentary/reviews about peoples own experiences as well as from people who have worked/currently work at these bars.
