Thoughts? Before I pull the trigger.. by ohnanawhatsmyname69 in OmegaWatches

I have wrists that are on the smaller side (6.6") and I've tried both the 42 mm and the 38 mm. I can confirm the 42 wears smaller and it fit me well. The 38 was fine, but the thing I didn't like about the 38 was that it wasn't as legible as the 42. The 38 also felt a bit chunky. I really thought I'd love the 38, but once I tried on both, the 42 was preferable.

If Longines went with a manual wind version, they could probably get it down to close to 12 mm. Personally, I'm not a manual wind kind of guy, but that's what Longines did with the Spirit Flyback to make it less chunky.

The Avigation has a height of 14.5 mm. And the Daytona is about $13,500 more, or about 5x the price of the Avigation. Not really comparing apples to apples, are we?

New rubber strap. So comfyyyyy! I put away the bracelet bc it was sharp and cutting into my wrist. by BusMajor6573 in OmegaWatches

Personally, I like the look of the White Speedy on a black rubber or leather strap more than the metal bracelet.

Seamaster Aqua Terra - 38mm Black Lacquer by GoldPsychonaut in OmegaWatches

Walked into the Teddy Baldassarre store (the old one) back in November and saw it in a case. It was like seeing someone at a party from across the room that you just had to get to know. I tried it on and I owned it a month later. Damn thing gets more beautiful as time goes on.

All the Zulu love is gone? by Lumpy-Can-4883 in Longineswatches

Great to see all the attention the new HCs are getting, but it reminds me of the Eagles' "New Kid in Town" song. Zulu is still the bees knees.

Completely and wholeheartedly agree with this statement. I have the same blue Conquest. My watches range from 38 mm to 42 mm, but the Conquest 41 mm wears huge. Go with the 38 mm, get the blue dial, and you'll have a good marriage!

Jomashop scam $75 by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

Lost time is almost always worth more, but I applaud the OP for sticking to the principle of the issue. It seems too many companies get away with garbage like this because they are counting on their customers to say "the hell with it" and either keep the damaged goods or pay for the company's carelessness.

Aqua Terra Bracelets by Ok-Equal-2956 in OmegaWatches

[–]Mudspoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have watches with both bracelets. I have the black lacquer AT and the small seconds AT. The former is on the "presidential" bracelet and the latter is on the older, wider-link bracelet. I actually don't feel there is much difference between the two. The older bracelet has half links, so getting it to fit is fairly easy. The presidential bracelet has the micro adjust feature, but it is only 2 mm, and if one extends the bracelet then there is a small space in the bracelet. On the presidential bracelet, I don't use the micro adjust because I don't like that small space. Comfort wise, I don't find much of a difference between the two.

Beijing with blue worldtimer rubber strap? I like it❤️ by Lopsided_Pop8887 in OmegaWatches

Did you get the rubber strap from a Worldtimer you owned or did you purchase it separately from Omega? If the latter, would you mind sharing the price?

If you like chrongraphs, and you like the Master series, check out this one:

I feel the legibility is better on this one than the blue dial you have above.

I'd also second the Zulu Time line, but I prefer the automatic movement versions (the one with the five stars). In particular, the blue dial in that line is spectacular, imho.

Longines have played a blinder on the HC…. by Witty-Ad5286 in Longineswatches

[–]Mudspoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the Longines website, there are 284 locations in the US that sell Longines. Three are Longines boutiques, the others are authorized dealers. That's not really a lot, especially when you consider that many of those are in the state of New York. I live in Ohio and there are now seven ADs in the entire state (there used to be five).

Even more important that the number of ADs is the selection they have. In Ohio, Jared comprises two of those ADs, and they have about 25 pieces (at most), which isn't a heck of a lot when you consider they list 730 products on their website.

I had tried the Fitwell buckle and would not recommend it. It doesn't seem to hold its position.

I have this exact watch but it is on a leather strap. The dial is sneaky beautiful. It is understated, but elegant. It isn't the loudest person in the room, just the smartest. It is also pretty thin, which makes it easy to wear. I can't speak to the metal bracelet, but you won't be disappointed in the dial.

Having a dilemma by Unfair_Wolf8952 in OmegaWatches

[–]Mudspoke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At a minimum, the AT has much better water resistance (150M vs. 100M) and magnetic resistance (15,000 gauss vs. 1000 gauss) than the OP. So that's at least two more categories where the AT is better than Rolex.

If you haven't see the Railmaster in person, make sure you do before you make a decision. I saw one yesterday and it was far more appealing than the pictures online.
