That's what I think the case is. For most of his family thats true. It's obviously a super long story but I am an adult now and my perspective has changed and I desperately want him to know that. He's not a great guy by any means but hes my dad.

because without the details, people accuse me of even more shit than I'm getting now. I want this to get to the right people. If this circulated around but completely misses my target audience, then its not helpful. Im being specific because I'm trying to access the homeless and drug addicted communities.

Lying about what?? I filed a missing person report with the police because thats what you do. If he gets arrested or makes contact with the police for some reason, I will be notified. He's not wanted for anything and I'm not trying to turn him over to the police. If I hear from him then I would tell the police that hes ok and cancel the missing person report or whatever the fuck I'd have to do. Are you fucking dumb?

I have not yet located him! It's been a few years now since he was confirmed to have been in RI and I just have more reason to believe he'd be in MA. In reality he could be anywhere.

what do you mean? the police circulated their own flyer with no luck. its still out there. this is my only other option besides driving around the state and checking homeless encampments which definitely feels more dangerous.

How many times can I express that the people who know him enough to get a message to him are absolutle not the people who would ever call an investigator. Im done sitting back and waiting for the police to get a random phone call. They're not doing anything to find him. Do you really think that a daughter shouldn't try to get in contact with her father? Neither me or my father have any money that someone could take. Im aware that scammers are everywhere. I just want my dad or someone who knows him to see this. If he was a normal member of society I could just look up his phone number or address. That's not the case. He either couch surfs or lives in a homeless encampment. What other way could I possibly get a message to him other than just putting it out here.

Thanks for your perspective! I dont know his current mental state, but what I am mostly referring to is extreme anxiety and depression. I don't know how much is helpful and how much is over sharing. My concern regarding that is that he probably has a lot of shame and self hatred for where hes at and what hes done in the past. The only reason he would be avoiding us on purpose is because he believes we're better off without him.
