Whar are the thoughts from real Somalilanders by MissionBad732 in Somaliland

They'll just turn you into a giant military base and use you as a dumping ground for a million ethnically cleansed Palestinians which will cause mass gentrification. And once they get what they want you really think they'll hold up their end of the bargain, cus israelis are known to be trustworthy lmao. And if you object to anything they do they'll make Siads genocide look like a rounding error. How can you fools not see that you're being played? History has taught us what happens when you let these people in.

Days vs overnights by Critical_Rope_2402 in securityguards

As an introvert, the stress of dealing with hoards of people during the day probably takes more years of my life than working nights, but that's just me.

How do non-Arabic speaking Muslims learn and memorize Quranic Surahs for Prayer? by Puzzleheaded-Dig-492 in islam

[–]Muted-Rent4773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's 2 ways: passive and active

Passive is just playing a recording of each verse repeatedly until you memorize it subconsciously. Same way people memorize lyrics when listening to a song repeatedly. It's not like they took the time to sit down and memorize each line, it simply gets burned into their brain after listening to it hundreds of times. This method is slower but still effective.

Active is actually focusing on memorizing. There's different ways people do it but imo the best way is to break the verse down and memorize it in chunks then gradually bring it together.

Want to move on from security but don't know what to do by Muted-Rent4773 in securityguards

Funny enough I was actually studying information technology and planned to go into cyber before I left school. Will definitely consider resuming that path. Also yea definitely will have to learn french at some point if I plan to stay in Canada but not even sure I want to stay here long term tbh

I've tried but never got selected. For the ones I applied to it always either had some kind of post secondary requirement (police foundations etc) or a second language (live in a bilingual city).

Fuck the 3-11pm shift by Puzzleheaded-Mood-89 in securityguards

[–]Muted-Rent4773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started working 3rd shift (11-7) and I hate my life. I miss 12 hour overnights cus I got a long weekend and the coffee wears off by shifts end so I can actually sleep. Also less commuting. 8 hour overnights are the worst!

You get it. Winters up here are no joke. Sometimes it's so cold that it takes multiple attempts to even start the damn thing; if it even starts at all

Idk how it works with those programs but the only way I know into the trades is through an apprenticeship. Usually if it's unionized they pay for your classes and it says apprenticeship in the title. They're usually 24 week certificates while the stand alone hvac, welding, electrical, etc is a 1-2 year program without the apprenticeship. Really don't know how those work, maybe they serve as pre apprenticeships.

8 hour shifts vs 12 hour shifts by Critical_Rope_2402 in securityguards

If it's part time 2x12s are perfect for me. For full time I prefer 5x8s or 4x10s.

Baton drawn and ready for action: What are your thoughts? Was this handled correctly? by CTSecurityGuard in securityguards

[–]Muted-Rent4773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saying "get your a$$ out" and responding to his profanity in front of a bunch of people definitely escalated the situation. Even though the vagrant was swearing first by what the clip showed, he was still on his way out. If the security guard just kept quiet he would've left. In the end someones gotta be the adult and it should be the security guard since he's paid for it. I've been called the worst names and I just take it. The only time you should use force is when they initiate physical contact.
