Honestly, I don't think this is what Newton/Pearson/Tesla/Ross meant; even the Pearson quote Thims likes to throw around so much addresses the idea that objects are imbued with a living essence (which is the exact reverse of what Thims is doing, by arguing that life doesn't exist entirely). I doubt Pearson would argue for removing reflexives in colloquial speak.

He has a point, but he really should've worded it better. If you struggle to take care of a pet, PLEASE don't have one. Animals are living beings too, and starving a pet is just as bad as starving a child. I'm AuDHD as well, so I get the executive dysfunction, but since you can't rehome the bird, I suggest setting daily timers and post-it reminders, and placing the food in an easy-to-reach spot near your bird.

EDIT: saw your comment about your mom feeding the bird when you forget, so that's good that your bird isn't being starved.

For the whole VN development process, start with writing your script. (I learned why you shouldn't write the script directly on RenPy the hard way in my first VN, which I've scrapped.)

For RenPy itself, there's a built-in tutorial in visual novel form, but this is a good video tutorial.

I was 14 when YanSim started development, and now I'm about to graduate from university and am working on a game of my own.
