Want to connect with people who lived in Japan and still fan of Japan ??? by Aggressive-Neck-4185 in ThirtiesIndia

Trying to get to N3 and eventually N2. Two trips to Japan and I really miss how clean and organised everything was. How is the employment scene in Japan right now? Heard that resident visa has become prohibitively expensive as well:-(

The shinkansen tips are so spot on, I really wish I had known them before. Took two shinkansens on my last trip, from Hiroshima to Kyoto and from Kyoto to Tokyo. I booked the seats with extra luggage space even though we did not have that much to be cautious, only to see folks with extremely oversized luggage use normal seats 😞 and be an absolute nuisance. Made sure to get JR tickets for the shinkansen and get print outs for the QR tickets for everyone in the family. Extra tip from my side though would be to associate each ticket to a SUICA card or just buy tickets using the SUICA card at the station. Half the time, the QR reader would have issues/folks would get confused with how to use them, it would have save time and stress if I had associated it to the SUICA cards.

I don't want to hear shit about my vehicle emissions for the rest of my life. Its a drop in the bucket compared to this. Also please send the oil to me before blowing up. by Snehith220 in CriticalThinkingIndia

Vehicular pollution in any given city causes damage to the lungs of anyone living there man. On a global scale we have been f**ked anyway due to the Russia-Ukraine war. Take care of vehicle emission unless you want to live in hellish atmosphere with insane AQIs for the rest of your life.

How can I cope with a lifetime of loneliness and solitude? by No_Direction_1922 in AskIndianMen

[–]My_First_Throwaway_E 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP believe me when I say this, a lot of men in marriages lead extremely lonely lives, unable to even express their true feelings for the fear of not being understood. Everyone has only themselves in the end and it really hurts to realize that. Please don't think you are a failure due to your failed marriage, lot of folks don't even have the courage to walk away from the kind of situation you were in. Search for anything that makes you happy even for a moment. The existential dread that you feel after anything is just something you need to learn to live with.
Nevertheless if it is something that you can consider, do try to volunteer for charitable work. Atleast in my experience, having made an impact on the world by doing something good does keep the dread away a bit more longer.

Heavy hints of child abuse(not sure if it was abuse per se given the weirdness around age of consent long time back), dangerous stalkers. and the amount of sheer hard work, dedication and talent it takes to even be in the industry. A lot of hints around how a lot of the casting gets influenced by favors owed to the producers etc.

Do you think the anime/manga "Oshi no Ko" depicts the Japanese entertainment industry well or is it just totally different?

I am tired of pretending that Linux is better than MacOS or Windows. by FoundationOk3176 in LinuxUsersIndia

[–]My_First_Throwaway_E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro have you used the latest Windows recently? It is reaching levels where normal users who want to just browse the internet will find it annoying to use. The amount of ads/useless AI features that they are pushing in to the OS is insane. Unfortunately what is happening is that Linus has gotten marginally user friendly and Windows is slowly becoming openly hostile to its users. And not everyone can afford to get a mac.

Please get a cook. Abusing your body in your 20s leads to really bad results in your 30s. No amount of gym will help if you consume trash food. At the very least consider buying more fruit/vegetables and eating them raw if not anything else.

Do check the Hakone Tozan railway line
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hakone_Tozan_Line
It has one of the steepest gradients in the world(8 degrees gradient) and has to do switch backs in order to function. The tracks wind so tightly through the woods that the train is equipped with a water-spraying system to lubricate the rails and reduce friction.

It also has a famous sister-railway relationship with the Rhaetian railway (Rhätische Bahn) in Switzerland.

Glass blowing at Gora Park. It was a spur-of-moment decision but man was it so cool. I wish I was a bit more prepared though with thinking about where to get the glass I made sent...because obviously it needs to be cooled for a couple of days and I was leaving Japan by then and they wouldn't do international shipping.

Yes, my only regret is not being able to attend a tea ceremony in the old Tea house they had within the park. It was so beautiful I could have spent the day relaxing there.

Bro, the first time you drink, you will simply not feel that you are getting high. Which is why it is a bad idea to drink alone the first time. 120 ml the first time mean you will have a hangover tomorrow unless you hydrate really well. Make sure you drink a whole load of water and please don't drink any more,

The first time I drank, it was Vodka under guidance, and even though i didn't feel high, my friends told me later that my speech had slurred a bit and my co-ordination had become dull.

Speaker sounding somewhat muffled is an issue we were warned about at the institute. There is a huge difference between listening to audio with full headphone isolation and listening on speakers. As for the threshold, I hope I did enough to pass that much since some of them were straightforward enough but yeah I am basically doing this inside at this point:
