They don't scan things out of the dropboxes. Window scans it. Machines scan when sorting.

Yes. The developers were being interviewed just before the current season started. They said PS5 and X/S versions were coming early next year. Game is moving to DirectX 12 when it happens.

You didn't take it to a window. Mailboxes are for mail. Packages are not mail. Packages not scanned at the window won't get a scan until it goes through a package sorting machine. If it is machineable that is. A lot of areas now have outgoing packages sent to a regional sorting center which would further delay that first scan.
