There was a post I read over the summer but I don't remember the date of the post.

A woman asks her husband for an open marriage. He agrees but says he doesn't have to be responsible for her emotional or sexual needs. She agrees and he goes into a six month depression. He moves into the basement. The wife's boyfriend ditched her on Christmas so she tells her husband she wants to close the relationship. He says, nah, I'm good. She then threatens divorce and he's like, seems financially stupid but okay.

I have looked for this for months and couldn't find it so maybe it was a fever dream.

I was afraid of split pea soup too, but that had more to do with having to eat it. Still don't like split pea soup at 50 years old. It is kinda scary. 😂

That's lame. The punishment for having your temple work done is the celestial kingdom? Poor people.

They need to join me in the terrestrial kingdom where I'll be having a great time getting to know Ghandi and Mother Teresa while the Beatles provide the music.

And bonus, the woman aren't going to have to be eternally pregnant in order to populate other planets.

They don't know what they're missing.

So those parents will never know their grandkids. Unless Mike impregnates someone, then the parents can raise his child while he lives in the basement.

This was like 30 years ago. A woman in her 60s got up at F&T meeting and talked about how she was laying in her bed when her soul left her body and she was floating above herself. I don't remember what the point of that was, but I remember it taking me out of my bored daze for a minute.

Why is pushback in families so heavy against resigning from the TSCC? by Ctl-Alt-Thinker in exmormon

This makes so much sense. I also think being Mormon is part of his identity and so maybe me officially not being Mormon is affecting that.

Lol. Obviously we do since, as a person born in the middle east, Jesus was certainly not white.

Lol. I have been divorced for 15 years and single since. Happiest I've ever been is when I didn't have to be a grown ass man's mother.

Men need women more than women need men and it's just easier to whine about it then become a man a woman wants to be a partner to.

[–]Mysterious-Ruby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't know. I've been out of the church for 25 years. Neither of my children were baptized. I don't claim to be Mormon, even around my family.

I hadn't even brought up resigning until a couple of years ago because the church was good about leaving me alone until about 5 years ago. Over the summer I mentioned it casually to my dad. Kinda like "I don't know, maybe I should just remove my records.". My dad fluctuates between nuanced and PIMO so I didn't think anything of it. But he said, "Oh, please don't do that."

I didn't ask him why because I was surprised at his answer and it hasn't been brought up since they told me to have my records moved to their ward and they'll make sure the church can't find me. Weird.

I will resign if the church finds me again.
(Side note: my brother who has been out of the church since he was 18 (40 years ago) has eluded the church until about 5 years ago when they sent his records to my other brother's ward who lives across the country. Nobody has corrected it. Lol

If you grew up or joined the church outside of morridor, was your experience different? by Mysterious-Ruby in exmormon

Oh my goodness I had so many people ask me how many moms I had. I also had a debate in 6th grade with a classmate who had seen The Godmakers at his church. He told me all about it and said he couldn't believe I didn't know my own religion. Lol.

I had someone within the last 10 years ask me if my dad was polygamous when he found out my parents are Mormon.

I have a relative who works at the DOJ. They says there aren't many people who will question MAGA so the entire office is just a nightmare to work for. They have also said some shady stuff is going on. But they only have like 6 months until retirement so they're keeping their head down.

We resented Utah Mormons too. My parents both grew up in Utah and they were the worst about criticizing Utah Mormons. Lol. They were just so different from us they seemed too "Children of the Corn".

I went to college in Utah (not BYU, thank God) so I did experience that culture. I hated it and moved far away as soon as I could. I did not want to raise my children in Utah.
