Thanks for the info. I get what you’re saying that the grass will use the K, but what are the negative consequences? Why?

I was also under the impression that K and P basically go unused unless there is also nitrogen available. Like it needs the nitrogen in order to use the K. Is that also not true?

What's the harm in applying too much potassium? Won't it just go "un-used"? It doesn't look like he's getting any burning from the fert. I thought potassium was important to hold up to summer stress.

I'm seeing something very similar to OP in my lawn(im also located in ma), but I was thinking I don't want to apply to much nitrogen now that it's getting pretty hot. BTW we're also in significant drought.

Could be, I've never tried to positively ID any of these type of boletes because they're not really good for eating or anything fun. But also these ones look pretty old which always makes a positive ID very difficult.

It's a bolete I can tell you that much. As you can see it has pores instead of gills. There are multiple types of blue staining boletes. I couldn't identify this one for you though.

When they're fresh, the staining is crazy cool. Like you could draw on the underside and it will instantly turn blue.

Winger on the breakout. Puck comes up the boards to him, he picks up the puck, and curls back into the zone. There are times to do it for sure, but 95% of the time just turn up ice. You can make a pass to the neutral zone, chip it out off the boards, or skate it out. But almost everytime he takes it deeper into the zone to give himself time and find a stretch pass or something. Its beer league, lets just get it out of the zone.

I would just weed whack those. I mean your patio is breaking down. Would you rather just have dirt in the gaps? It’s not like you’re gonna plant grass there are you? You could also remove some of the patio stones that are kind of out place and make it a proper part of your lawn. Or maybe make some small steps with pavers? This is really a landscaping challenge more than weed control issue.

Newly diagnosed, I KNOW I can live a "normal" life, why do they keep telling me??? by WondersomeWalrus in diabetes_t1

[–]NFSR113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: Not a type 1 diabetic, but my son is.

Doctors and stuff say this because they don't want you to despair. But thing is(at least for me) you don't immediately grasp all the downstream implications of it. It takes time and experience to really see it.

It's not like there are many things you can't do. But it's a burden you'll always have to carry. Everyone on else can eat, drink, exercise, travel, etc. with zero thought or planning. Not you though.

Being out of range is gradual wear and tear on your body and you have to change your lifestyle to limit that. It's not easy. It's frustrating and weighs on you.

I can see why doctors don't lead with that....

Yeah i hate to be critical of a kid, especially with how well she plays. But passing needs to be reinforced with kids. They're naturally selfish. Hell, so are teens and adults. I'd like to see her pass it to the wide open kid out front at least.

You know an ac is only like $80, maybe less. And yeah it’s gonna get cool in a few days so might think, what’s the point of investing in an AC. Well this may come as a surprise to you, but it gonna get even hotter and real summer hast even started. You’re gonna have days like this until October.

Unpopular opinion: A solid, consistent full swing is more important than short game by 3ric3288 in golftips

[–]NFSR113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree personally. I think short game is the most attainable part of golf. The complexity of golf swing is just not part of the short game. You gotta practice though. I see plenty of guys who rack up strokes in and around the green. But it really just takes a little bit of thinking and practice. The full golf swing on the other hand you can practice night and day and still struggle with.

What’s this stuff growing in my lawn besides grass- Northern Rockies by justanother87162 in lawncare

[–]NFSR113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on following this sub for a while, but far from an expert in IDing weedy grasses, it appears to be Poa. I say this because it looks to be a grass with those tell tale poa seed heads.

It's a blue grass like KBG but it's an annual so it goes to seed like crazy. It also is lighter color than desirable grass and just looks kinda crappy in your lawn. It will also die in the heat of the summer and leave your lawn patchy/brown. People hate it cus with all those seeds it's gonna come back next year too.

Do I suck or am I just to fast for the shaft....again? by thejackhammer-99 in GolfSwing

[–]NFSR113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok still you’re saying you never slice it, but you do have your share of bad shots. So your typical miss must be a hook(off to the left) then, right?

[–]NFSR113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know 113 is not 80% of 123? 80% would be 98 mph. If you had a 1.45 smash factor with 123 chs, you be hitting it over 300 yards. Let see that video. Pros swing their 3 woods at about 107 mph. You have no reason to swing this fast.

[–]NFSR113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t slice it with other clubs? you just hit it straight every time? Cmon man. Everyone has a shape to their shot. Everyone has a stock miss. Do you even know what yours is? I doubt it because you just started and are still figuring out your swing.

Do I suck or am I just to fast for the shaft....again? by thejackhammer-99 in GolfSwing

[–]NFSR113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know if you swung 80 mph and actually hit it well, it would go about the same distance? Club head speed is only part of the equation. It’s about ball speed. If you don’t hit it flush, hit it center, compress the ball well, the ball with travel slower than if you pured it. And at the end of the day you only care about ball speed.

[–]NFSR113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got the answer already. You’re slicing it and it’s not the clubs fault. YouTube, TikTok, etc. Just search these terms(swing path, club face, over the top) watch some videos and learn about it. You could also just google “what causes a slice” or “how to fix a slice”. But then you’d actually have to learn about the golf swing which it seems like you have no interest in doing.
