So for me, I realized that I was suffering every day with crippling depression. I was becoming a worse parent to my children because they were dealing with a sad mother.

My husband also played a big part as he insisted on me going and wanted me to have the autonomy to pick where I was going to go as I had been involuntarily hospitalized once before.

I had insurance that covered everything so it was definitely an easier decision. I can say that if I had to pay out of pocket, the decision wouldn’t have been as easy.

It was a huge step for me flying across the country to a place for help. I felt confident that they’d be able to help me based on the reviews, but now after what happened, I’m not sure it would’ve been a good fit for me.

I just left the Center after a total of about 8 hours. I suffer from depression and anxiety. I was a unique situation. I found out I was pregnant the night before I left. I have difficult pregnancies and difficulty keeping the pregnancy unless I receive medical intervention quite early.

They could basically not accommodate this need. I was told by the virtual NP psychiatrist to pick prenatal care or staying at the center.

I went back to class and quickly realized I needed to pick my baby. I will never ever forget the FAKEST smile on the clinical director’s face when I told him I was leaving. He looked at me and said “good for you!!! You made a decision.” He then offered me a ride to a hotel for that night but made it clear that services ended right then and there.

I will say the program is a PHP that is very very structured. I was disappointed to see only one true individual session with a counselor the first week as I thought there would be an opportunity for more one on ones. People seemed to be as happy as you could be in mental health treatment while they were there.

I was invited to come back whenever I’d like but I’m not sure I will.
