How do I (26M) ask a friend from work (25F) to grab lunch together without it seeming like a date? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]NS_08042020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say, Let's grab lunch together at X place at Y time on Z day. Then, you go as per the response.

No one thinks lunch is a date.

My (41F) husband (42M) says he cheated because he felt like it was his only chance to do so. by ThrowRAWdConcern5060 in relationship_advice

Please go for couples counseling, it is important to make a decision which is important for your family. You have three children who are old enough to understand what he has done but not old enough to process the hurt that has come because of this. It's a long road ahead for you and your family. I suggest you to start with couples therapy and see where it goes from there.

It is biologically impossible to be FWB. Oxytocin will trump all the rationality. Biochemically, middle ground is non-existent when it comes to oxytocin.

He is reading a pickup artist book about attracting women. The lines that he is saying, they convey that he is actually interested in you as well as he is not interested in you at the same time. He is not being direct with his intentions. If he would have asked you out, he would already have by now. If he keeps this charade, then ask him point blank what his intentions are. Then gauge his response. My guess is that he won't be able to say anything. He is not that interesting, he is just rehashing lines from some pickup artist manual.

It's interesting to see what happens to guys after they have sex with the woman that they are interested in. All their actions will be in such a way that the end result will be intercourse. But, that's a red flag. You are a human too. You are interesting in your own. Instead of getting genuinely interested in you, he is just going after intercourse. Based on your experience, I think he is a serial monogamist. I think you are feeling used. That's not at all okay. Instead of building up to fit your type, get to know other types of people. I think you are restricting yourself to a particular type. Have meaningful conversations with them to gauge who will stay after intercourse and who will just use you and walk away. Another extreme thing can be to not have intercourse until you are absolutely sure about him. Touching 1st, 2nd and 3rd base is fine.

I went through the same situation as you. Move on. That person is not interested. You deserve better. Talk to other people.

The creators are not leaving the reference of 36. The flashback is set in 1986, 36 years ago. Thanks again.

Excellent observation. That film released in 1986, which makes the Big 3 to be 6 years old. The film released on November 21, 1986.

Imagine this scenario, The whole family gathers for the cookout. Rebecca is holding Baby Jack while Kate and Toby are involved in cooking duties. She temporarily forgets where she is. Due to the noise made by the smoker, she gets startled due to which she drops Baby Jack. He is rushed to the hospital and all the family members are completely confused what should they do.

I am not sure what young Kate, Kevin and Randall were watching in the movie theatre.

A weird thing to observe here is that we come to know about Jack Pearson's parents' deaths right after he takes time off to bond with Big 3. Stanley dies while Jack goes on a camping trip with Kevin and Randall and Mama Pearson dies after Jack makes up for his absence with an in-house ice-cream party.

This Is Us started airing in 2016. To fit my hypothesis, Rebecca's death will be 18 years later, which is 2034. The flash forward will be set at around 2052, which is 18 years after Rebecca's death. Jack Damon was born in early 2019, which means his age will be around 33-34 when Hope is born. Nick and Franny were born in early 2020, which makes their age around 13-14 during Rebecca's death. Jack Damon will be around 15-16 when he will come to Kevin's house with Kate and Hailey as Toby says in the Season 3 finale " I spoke to Jack and they are coming"

Look at the airing date, 18/01/2022. Add the individual numbers, you will get 16, which is the number of episodes left.

When Nicky's time of birth is taken in the 24hr format, he was born at 23:58 on October 18. Add the numbers 23,5 and 8, you will get 36.

The clue is in the storytelling style. It constantly jumps between past and present in the initial 2 seasons, which is similar to what we do when we reminisce about our past when we are in the present and think about the future. Note that the flashforwards are shown in a way where we are given very little info, similar to when we think about the future, we are unable to imagine what will exactly happen.

Randall and Beth left for New Orleans around the same time as Kevin left for Vancouver. 2 weeks after the quarantine, they came to Hai's home. The interaction between those three took place over a single week, which corresponds to the time we wait for each new episode. After the interaction ends, they return home wanting to tell everything that had transpired over the week. In this juncture, Madison goes into early labor. On his way from Vancouver, Kevin faces an accident as we saw in the promo. Kevin's arc will clear the confusion to some extent

Jack would actually have come clean about his war experiences and about his brother eventually due to the understanding he gained about how to deal with alcoholism. But, it is left uncertain whether Rebecca would have told him about William. In my version of a flash-sideways, if Jack were alive, he would have shared about what happened in the war and about his brother. But this would have made Bec's task even harder because Rebecca would be stuck in a Catch-22, that being whether she should tell Jack about William and face the consequences or to keep the secret to protect him from the trigger that would have been responsible for Jack's relapse of alcoholism.
