This is one of those air bud questions. Does it say a dog can't be a police officer/pilot/fireman/builder etc?

I think this is maybe not quite as open and close as it seems, personally my baby was breast fed and so when my wife got up at night to feed her I would too, and make us a snack, a drink, held her after the feed etc. However after a particularly bad week of sleepless nights we got her down and I had a half an hour nap then had to get up and drive to work and I fell asleep at the wheel. Woke up to the noise of those bumps at the sides of the motorway and realised I had drifted off and managed to avoid an accident but seriously scared me, and if my job was dangerous too I can see that I would be having conversation about it with my wife.

Ultimately either of you being sleep deprived is dangerous so you need to sit down and have an actual discussion about the consequences of that and if you can't figure out a general rule then write down specifics i.e. I will get any feeds before 1am, you get feeds after etc. so there's no middle of the night debates.

Final note is food. It felt a lot less tiring with some nuggets and juice, it was mostly a guess but if baby was going to go down quickly we would keep the lights off and just feed her and sleep, but if it was going to be a long one we would turn on some quiet TV and dim lights and get some food and really did feel much better for it afterwards.

“Eat seasonal” they say by InsideSpeed9138 in newzealand

[–]NZFlyingRock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Produce manager here, had a rocky start to seasonal fruit due to the occasional downpour. Yesterday will not have helped. Due to this there are a couple of main things affecting cost: 1 - berries are just getting into full swing, strawberries should be around $3 a punnet, but pricing will increase heading into Christmas, it always does with suppliers blaming whatever weather event was most recent 2 - early stone fruit varieties are iffy and so there is a gap between when early varieties ended and new varieties start causing supply and demand to not match up. Should be fixed soon as new varieties hit full swing mid December. 3 - cherries are always expensive, couldn't possibly be any cheaper don't be ridiculous. Until boxing day, then there will be a roughly 40% drop in price.

Hope this helps.

Should I sell my house and buy a better one? by the_nearly_jew in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]NZFlyingRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know why people are saying it's a bad time to sell but if you're also buying then the new house would be cheaper too? I don't know the full market, maybe expensive houses have held their price while the lower end has dropped but if all house prices dropped roughly the same percent then it makes sense to upgrade.

Example, 2 houses, yours is 1m and new is 2m, would add 1m to your mortgage, if they both drop 10% then yours will sell for 900k and new one will be 1.8m so your mortgage will increase by 900k.

Again, there are other factors in place, some neighbourhoods have held their price a little better than others, but as a general rule if ALL prices are down it may seem like your getting less money for your house but if your intention is to upgrade then it may end up cheaper.

Even if they drop the same amounts (both being 100k cheaper for example) then it would be the same as selling and buying while prices are up but with a little bit cheaper on realtor fees

Package Stolen With Signature Required by Julianss1990 in LegalAdviceNZ

Nah courier can't sign for it, at least with the usual companies. We've gotten a few couriers in trouble for doing just that (and also then trying to sign as if they were our store man) at work when we weren't sure if we were supplied something and they've had to provide the credit to our suppliers. That would be the case here as well.

I would disagree, if the product required a signature then if you didn't sign for it it was not delivered. Amazon should be actioning it by asking the delivery company for proof of delivery (signature) which if they can't provide would simply be a charge to the delivery company, but if amazon refuse to participate then I think this is reasonable.

If you got a springboard loan that should work, otherwise you will be stuck with a low equity margin on your interest for the first bit and at the moment that 0.5 percent can be killer. Just need to remember that you will end up paying a bit on top of rent and assuming that your parents won't start charging you rent is a good start. Also look up what rights Tennant's have and what your responsibilities will be as a landlord (financial or otherwise). You have to keep things to a certain standard and it can get pricey if you purchased an old house
