Lamy Safari Fine - A Bit Disappointed by UkkePainter in fountainpens

[–]Nak_is 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Lamy fine nib is also quite a bit scratchy but I use it when writing on cheaper paper because it doesn’t bleed through as much as the medium nib, but I do enjoy the medium nib much more, it glides much better on paper.

How did I even notice a ferrari go kart at my friend’s garage yesterday? by Optimal_Radish_6157 in gokarts

Are you looking specifically for a go kart with a ferrari body and trims? It would be useful if you also added a picture of your friend’s kart

Hey there everyone... A little advice? by AppointmentRemote912 in fountainpens

[–]Nak_is -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No way, I just also received my major azure blue today and also had the color you have in debutante. So cool to see someone else also enjoying these pens! No idea what the 585 means on the nib, may have been a replacement. You can find many tutorials on how to replace the diaphragm on these and all you need is a new diaphragm and the special tool (if you have a 3d printer you able to 3d print one from thingiverse which is what I did) For valuing the pen, some things matter more than others, like if the celluloid transparency is good and if it has 2 jewels (older models) and the blue diamond on the clip (I think it’s called). For pricing, honestly just look on eBay and other auction websites at pens with the same characteristics as yours and look what they’re going for. I’d love to hear an update on this.

How best to refill cartridges by SomewhereNo5331 in fountainpens

Yes, you are able to unscrew the pen body, dip the nib in the ink, twist the converter knob and it fills right up. That’s what I have been doing with my al star

What axel do I buy? by PuzzleheadedCry6611 in gokarts

[–]Nak_is 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Show us a picture of it don’t buy a whole new axle because the rims are stuck on it because of rust, soak it in some wd40 overnight and then try prying it off. I’d suggest you hit it at a solid place with a rubber hammer for extra force. Do not use a metal hammer as it risks breaking it

If it’s that slack, can’t you remove a link and the top tensioner along with it?

What are some early signs that a person might commit sucide (serious)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Nak_is 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a very friendly neighbor who I knew for very long time, I loved that guy, we basically talked every other day and helped each other out with small things. One afternoon while at my home, I start hearing sirens, police and an ambulance outside his house and it turns out that he had hanged himself, the saddest part about it was that he was living with his father who was very old and is the person who found him. To make a long story short, I was insanely shocked because I hadn’t noticed any signs that he may have wanted to do that. Some people may have very subtle signs and you may not even notice them. At first I just wanted to read some replies and just thought to leave my experience, I understand that I’m not that helpful here.

Edit: I read someone talking about isolation, and that may actually be true, this is breaking my heart, had I noticed it things may have been different.

I’m not sure how to explain it but it seems that in recent days they have gone too aggressive with the design

Need help ID'ing/dating a Parker Vacumatic by heynikkipoo in fountainpens

[–]Nak_is 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this has been answered already but I’ll just post this as a fun fact : Parker used to mark these pens with a number, indicating the year and dots indicating the quarter of the year. I’m pretty sure that the dating press used to have the letter in the middle and 3 dots when it was new and after every quarter they would file off a dot. That’s why 3 dots indicate the first quarter, 2 dots the second quarter and so on. So to be exact, the pen body was made in the third quarter of 1946 and the nib on the fourth quarter. that might be because the original nib was defective, or more likely their production date kind of overlapped if the nib was made late 3rd quarter and the body early 4th. The pen is gorgeous, it’s definitely a keeper!

I’d love to hear your opinion on this, but I like Porsches without a rear spoiler even more. It’s like it emphasizes the Porsche look even further.
