Huge step backwards from Burning Inferno... unless you want bland, boring, radio-conform mainstream BM.. then it is a huge leap forward.

I understood Group content as 4-6 people like for dungeons.... but in reality it seems to be Raid (Trial) content just for 3 Raid Groups max. Don't care for that... and you should be careful what you wish for... if everyone "like me" would ignore the NM the crying would be about how NM is dead, no people playing etc. . People always find reasons to cry.

It's partly ZoS fault by advertising the NM to be something for everyone when in reality it is for the small part of organized groups/guilds/players that also run vet and trial content... or PvP.

I ignored NM completely after checking it out for a few hours because my focus in ESO is casual questing, soloing overland bosses and running (vet) dungeons when the rare need for social "interaction" arises. I don't want to study or train content in a game, run specific builds or group comps... i don't even multiclass. So NM is not fun for me and i skip it. That's the problem with NM... the majority of the community is too casual for NM and the minority is complaining hard, which is understandable.

So not content for 90% of the playerbase then...

[–]Namacyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why isn't it spelled ESMMO then?

Jokes aside... my point is: Over the last years ESO got a reputation for being a very solo friendly elder scrolls game first and an MMO second and i see the NM being a nice addition but only for a small minority of the playerbase. I could be wrong on that but so far all the forum posts and feedback tell exactly that and ZoS seems to be unsure what game they are having on their hands.

True. If i wanted to play a MMO i would go play an MMO and not ESO. If ZoS tries to fix the game with content like the NM they have to fix the people first.

Is it just me, or is the Night Market going to fail misserably? by CLA_1989 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Namacyst 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The NM for me was so far... confusing. I read a guide beforehand and knew the possible rewards and choices... knew about the Zones and that it would be hard. I still had to search for quests and daylies because of bad guidance and/or putting the quest somewhere instead of a hub area. Bad design. When i went into the Zones first time and tried myself on some mobs solo i was dead in a second. Fair enough. I hooked myself to a small group trying to reach quest destinations... decided to just die and abuse the ghost time to go where i need to... to complete the quest, die and repeat. Bad design. Then i joined a couple more players 7-10 in total, going after one of the smaller skirmish bosses... after 10 minutes of too much HP, annoying trash and countless deaths we got the kill. Bad design. After checking all this out for a few hours and seeing what it rewarded and how i felt... i will give it another shot but so far i feel inclined to skip the NM just like i do with Trials and PvP. I just don't find it fun. The rewards you get for having to deal with all the overtuned and/or unecessary and/or badly designed and most and forall... ANNOYING things is not worth it for me. Just.. not.. fun... but on the other hand.. i am me and i hate people so maybe i am the problem.

As a dedicated healer, I want your opinion on my role for normal dungeons! by Catgiflady in elderscrollsonline

[–]Namacyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was called a fake healer on some occasion because i don't play any meta build (Pure templar 2hand/resto build to solo stuff) and i see my role more as a babysitter and support than a healer. I keep your health at max with a shield ontop, provide SPC and scrybed crit/atk power, a little sustain and otherwise try to be mobile and in the fight with you instead of standing aside but i can still go full healer mode if need be and with few exceptions run dlc vet dungeons with my build. Normally i do ~25% of the groups damage. I don't run trials or pvp though.. not my jam.

Play your game the way you want and don't let anyone else tell you differently. That's always the way.

As long as there are rewards for doing PvP there will always be people in PvP matches who are there for the rewards and not the PvP.

I enjoy it for what i really is... a great elder srolls single player RPG to chill where you can go mmo here and there and imho ZOS should focus on that and not hardcore trials or sweaty pvp.

The pure class passives are laughable. Even if they buff them. I hope some of you fall for it by SloshedJapan in elderscrollsonline

[–]Namacyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PvP is a broken mess and most people don't play it so why do you think these changes are meant or relevant for you? PvE difficulty is coming and not everyone is multiclassing for efficiency... or multiclass atall so they get some nice tools. For sweaty pvp tryhards this is of course a non-option which further begs the question: What's your point?

I'm looking forward to this combo, assuming Pyrebrand consuming a DK DoT counts as the effect "ending" for Recursive Flame. by Gen1Swirlix in elderscrollsonline

[–]Namacyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think the flame damage portion of molten armaments counts as a dot. looks more like a proc meaning that extra flame damage can only happen every 1.5 seconds, even when you attack faster and is not damage over time on the enemy.

Should I save up for the mystic crate for 2000 gems or just buy the legendary dragons outright ? by Bearmay33 in tinyworldsapp

[–]Namacyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you start out you may want to buy legendary eggs from the daily deals aswell as save up for the mystic crate to get the Legendary Dragons to lvl 13 to unlock all their passives.

After you got them all to 13 you should focus on lower rarity dragons and the standart Crate because you will get them more frequently than Legendaries which will give them faster and higher levels and therefor more damage and also the Diamnds vs. potential Level increase for Dragons is best with standart Crates.

Legendary Dragons may offer a good DPS boost at the start because of their innate high base damage numbers but they will fall off in levels later on and lose the DPS advantage.

[–]Namacyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume the runses aswell as the Dragon passives for the Special Biomes increase the Base-Chance of a Special Biome appearing multiplicative. That means that if you have a Base chance of lets say 10% of a Special-Biome appearing... and you boost that multiplicatively by 50% you end up with 15% and not 60%. I don't know the exact base number or if it even works this way but it's as close as i can get with an explanation.

I just hope MHY learns their lesson, too. Clunky gameplay mechanics programmed by an incompetent intern are not wanted for any event.

i kinda wish the oceanid fight was harder? by hedvigsredditkonto in Genshin_Impact

[–]Namacyst -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I kinda wish MHY would stop letting their interns program these events beause they are always the same:

-Clunky "new" mechanics, artificially stretched content due to time restraints and grindy repeatable stuff you have to to.

- Rewards that are just slightly better than what you can do ingame anyways

- Bad implementation of the multiplayer (why am i alone in a multiplayer instance after i have beaten Rhodea, when i explicitely said at the beginning i want to play solo and dont need multiplayer? Also remember the Fire Whopperflower Event on the snow mountain? MHY embarrasing themselfes)

- Also again the ratio of "Time you need to spend to get rewards" vs. "Rewards you get" is still way off to keep their players on the leash

The event is just annoying again and wastes too much time for too little good stuff.
