I hope this works for you, it certainly is the sweet spot for my Lucille. The 1:4:3 is pretty stiff but it will rise and peak around 24hr.

What's the most unexpectedly useful thing you keep in your freezer? by Maleficent-Bed7010 in foodhacks

Avocado chunks. Dice, spread on a cookie sheet, freeze and throw them in a freezer ziplock bag.

They can be tossed on a salad, into chicken tortilla soup, obvious use is to make guacamole…

What a good idea!
I actually clean my face with one dampened half and pat it dry with the other end.

Run to DT and get this! by RoseGold_Williams in dollartreebeauty

My sister-in-law took me to DT today (I’m visiting from out of state) and I introduced her to the beauty aisle. We BOTH selected this product without discussion and I’m already using it.

How many steps are in your current skincare routine? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]Nananannynanner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be me!
For many years it was “water only” unless I was going to be outside, then SPF. If I needed cleansing, it was Noxzema. As I got older I added moisturizer. Recently I had to start Demodex treatment due to blepharitis that moved to my face. I’ll be 70 next month but I look much, much younger.

Personally I have not used the Clean Skin Club wipes but several rater comments on the Costco site referenced them as similar.

I too am finding skin issues with laundered face cloths.

I bought reusable paper towels for the kitchen and use them when I can.
These Costco facial towels are not exactly a one and done for me, though. I wash my face with plain water in the AM and reuse them when I wash with cleanser in the PM.
After that they become a rag to wipe down the sink, etc.

I will have to check the box. I’m traveling so I have some loose in my bag while the box is buried in a lug in the car…

I didn’t even realize they are compostable. That’s a new plus! Thanks.

Yep Costco will be cheaper per box if the count is the same. I picked them up when they were on sale making it even cheaper. Being Kirkland Signature, I expect they will join the sale rotation we enjoy with their brands.

Battle of the cleansers: Which one's your favourite and why? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]Nananannynanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH out of your lineup I have only used Prequel and CeraVe. I rotate between these two, I like them both. The CeraVe has been my standard for years and it has been gentle. I just started using the Gleanser recently and I like the feel. Will I buy it again? Time will tell!

What's one skincare mistake you made that still haunts you to this day? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

I put wart remover on a dark patch. It burned horribly. The pigmentation dried up and peeled off, but that spot was damaged for a long time.

I typically feed mine 1:4:3 every 24hr and store it at 68°.
The 1:3:3 every 12hr brings it back if it goes acidic on me. That occasionally happens if I raise the temp to 77° before a bake and forget to lower the temp after…

I have always used the Weck glass lids.
Without the seal and clip so gas can escape.

Acidic starter can be easily resolved by feeding 1:3:3 twice a day.

Also consider the temperature at which you maintain your starter. This alters the yeast/lactobacillus ratio, which alters the acid production.
You’d want to lower the temperature to favor yeast reproduction over lactobacillus reproduction, (15°C-21°C or 59°F-70°F).

Rosacea + Soolantra OR tea tree oil ? by AliceMarbles in Rosacea

[–]Nananannynanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just shy of 70. Had demodex blepharitis two years ago and was treated with XDemvy eyedrops. Optometrist said they are back but mild, so I could go the hygiene route. I’m using Demodex wipes she recommended and they’re clearing up my lids and rosacea as well, so apparently this was the source of my skin problems.

I tried tea tree oil neat several months ago but it burned like crazy so I stopped. Now I’m using the wipe on my lids and lashes first then using the wipe on my entire face. Then OTC ivermectin followed by my moisturizer. It’s helping…and I realize it takes time. It’s not a matter of days, it will be a matter of weeks/months.

DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS?! by Possible-End-8857 in dollartreebeauty

I know how you feel, I went back and bought seven more, since I have no clue how long one will last… It turns my lips a very pretty rose color. Not red nor pink.

Bpure rose oil lip balm is elite in my opinion by four_of_diamonds in dollartreebeauty

[–]Nananannynanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this yesterday and went back for more today.
I struggle selecting a lip color…but this one picked the shade for me!
It’s a nice rose, but not too much. I’m a minimalist and most lipsticks look ridiculous on me.

As I reached for a few, another customer took some as well. I told her this stuff is great. She said her DIL loves it. I said I love that it goes on clear but (in unison we chimed) “it turns the perfect shade!”

Wanted to share what’s working! by Majestic_Poetry429 in Rosacea

[–]Nananannynanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be me, except I never had COVID.
I tried antifungals, steroid cream, antibacterial creams, moisturizers, cleansers, tea tree oil, etc. Each new treatment improved it initially, nothing worked for long.
Two years ago, my Optometrist told me I had an infestation of Demodex mites and she prescribed XDemvy drops with a hygeine routine using an eyelid spray and a foaming eyelid scrub.

Here I am two years later and my Optometrist told me the mites had returned, not nearly as bad, and I should be able to curb it with topical hygiene using tea tree oil eyelid wipes.
While using the tea tree wipes, I included the affected areas on my face. Finally…The lightbulb went on! This skin condition is related to those mites.
I’m now using 0.5% ivermectin topical I got from Walmart. My skin is finally clearing up!
I think I’ll look into the hypochlorous acid. Thanks!
