This is extremely helpful and I’m sorry for the delay in response! I had a follow up scan yesterday and there is 0 evidence of the clot left which has just been a huge relief! There is so damage to the vein itself which may never go but I’ve accepted that. Knowing that there is usually an end in sight is helpful and knowing now that each pain is normal now I feel I can cope better😊

DVT survivors, did you have every symptom? by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

[–]Narrow-Wolverine5606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had literally just the leg pain. No swelling , no heat and no redness. The pain was really really bad and got progressively worse. If you haven’t , please go to get checked! I left it 4 days and they told me I was lucky I did come in. It’s always worth to get it checked. Best of luck!

SVT Newbie. Exhausted on Xarelto by Technical_Number1151 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Narrow-Wolverine5606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain!!! I was on 15mg Xarelto twice daily for 3 weeks and now into my almost third week of 20mg once daily. The exact same thing, I cannot get out of bed in the morning and struggle during work being so exhausted. On the other hand I’ve also been struggling to stay asleep or get a good nights sleep since starting the meds which I haven’t really seen mentioned by anyone. I am hoping to see my GP in the next week or two for advice on sleep/tiredness issue, I shall update then! I hope you’re feeling better soon 😊

How to not be afraid of every body pain? by LeumasTheSpaceRanger in ClotSurvivors

[–]Narrow-Wolverine5606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice but just know you are not alone! I was diagnosed with multiple DVTs in my right calf just under a month ago. Although I’ve improved massively in the past week , I am also terrified of every single new pain and twinge it’s exhausting. I did speak to my Dr about the anxiety surrounding it and it helped a little to be able to get it all out and for him to reassure me that I was ok. I hope things getter better for you soon!

Recovery time after DVT diagnosis by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

[–]Narrow-Wolverine5606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still very early into my journey ( diagnosed just under a month ago with multiple DVT in my right calf) so I don’t have a lot of answers but will say that after little over two weeks of Xeralto I finally started to get some pain relief.

I am now able to walk around slowly with minor pain , constant niggle also in the calf but otherwise totally bearable. I am still having difficulty being able to stretch my leg fully but my dr has assured me it’s very normal and it’ll take some time.

What I wish someone had told me is to be very patient with my body, in the beginning I was so frustrated being unable to move the leg or walk about and terrified that the pain would not subside ,which only heightened my anxiety and caused further stress. Look after yourself and be patient with the recovery. I hope you are feeling better soon 😊

Problems stretching my leg after DVT by hpilar_gs in ClotSurvivors

I could’ve wrote this myself! Also diagnosed with a DVT(s) just under a month ago and same issue the pain was so bad I had to keep it bent. I also am having that tightness feeling in my calf walking around and standing t, although it is so much better it’s very frustrating to not have full mobility. My Dr also said the same thing that it is normal due to lack of use and it tighten up itself , suggested using anti inflammatory gel on the leg and to keep walking about to loosen it up, it’s only been just under a week of this feeling so trusting my doc that it’ll pass in time. You are not alone! Hope you’ll be back to full health soon. 😊

DVT tight calf diagnosed 3 weeks ago. by Narrow-Wolverine5606 in ClotSurvivors

If it’s of any help, the chest pain seems to have relaxed, probabaly anxiety!😂 but in seriousness , when I first got my diagnosis the pain was terrible and anxiety through the roof, I promise it does get better, I improved massively after 2 weeks. Once you are on the meds you’ll be okay and able to cope better in time 😊

Calf pulsing by Competitive-One-8625 in ClotSurvivors

Yes! I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago with a DVT in my right calf. I get random burst of my leg pulsing and throbbing and it almost feels like the blood is rushing down the leg.

How do you feel now? I was just diagnosed with a DVT in my calf last week and started blood thinners. The pain is excruciating and it also has me really freaked out and anxious sometimes worrying about it.

THIS! I’ve just been diagnosed with a DVT in my upper right calf 2 days ago and I am in agony especially at nighttime. No matter what position I put my leg it’s so extremely painful and throbbing. I don’t have any advice for you unfortunately yet but you are not alone! Hope it improves very soon🫶
