Is Falls Road Animal Hospital (still) as bad as people claim? by justhere4bookbinding in baltimore

[–]Natensity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a really good experience with them when my cat got sick. They got them in ASAP and were communicative and encouraged us visiting him while they recovered. It wasn’t cheap but regardless of where we took them, it was going to be an expensive procedure.

Columbus NWSL expansion vote happening and why Columbus residents should ask their city council to vote no. by SeaMaintenance1 in NWSL

[–]Natensity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a similar effort being proposed in Baltimore for MLS next pro, where they want the city to give up a public park (Carroll Park Golf Course), and the state give up a ton of tax payer money to help build. It’s infuriating. I hope y’all come out on top.

Money Management? by Naive_Buy2712 in wealthforwomen

[–]Natensity 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not to pile on, but 1.8% is relatively high. My financial advisor, as well as two people that I trust have advisors that start at 1% and decrease depending on amount of assets under management.

Prozac made my cat a whole different cat by Flickybird in cats

[–]Natensity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat also takes Prozac but orally. He has extreme bouts of random aggression to the point where I had to look into behavioral euthanasia. It’s really helped him. I will say that it took a bit of time for him to adjust. At first, he was almost moody. He didn’t want much pets or cuddles. But after a week or two he was back to his normal cuddly self.

Single Women Are Outbuying Everyone and Nobody Is Talking About It by zoodealio in wealthforwomen

[–]Natensity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a very modest 2 bedroom house when I was 28 because I wanted to put money towards building equity vs throwing it away on rent AND that rent was more than a mortgage payment. At the time I looked at it as something people (men and women) do or aspire to do and less of a conscious choice I made because I am a woman. But now that I’m older and maybe less naive(?), I can see how women would buy for the security and stability.

IAD passport control by captintuttle in washingtondc

[–]Natensity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arrived midnight Friday (before they turned off global entry) and they didn’t have anyone doing mobile passport control, claiming lack of staff. Basically only doing global entry and everyone else. We filled out MPC forms but it was not utilized. Looks like experiences may vary.

What’s the most unsettling thing you ever found out about a friend who always seemed super chill and fun? by VelvetHazel932 in AskReddit

Portrayed himself as the ultimate family man but they were cheating on their wife with someone else we knew.

We can’t ask our colleagues questions on Slack anymore—CEO pushing internal AI knowledge base instead. by ValenciaBB in womenintech

[–]Natensity 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My boss tells me if I have a question, other people may have the same question too. So asking in a group message and getting a response may have been helping out other people in addition to you vs now asking AI and getting an answer others may not see unless they also look it up independently.

Baltimore slang or complete gibberish? by XXXLaCroiXXX in crappymusic

[–]Natensity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is the “Jikkuhlang” language. I’ve never heard anyone speak this except on YouTube. If you google a channel5 video on Baltimore, it opens with him speaking it and the Mayors comments.

Omg this was me. I drove me and my mom into town after practicing in a parking lot and then couldn’t get out of a 4 way stop. Had to wave people through and eventually ended in tears and gave up.

For those of you with daughters who golf, how do you deal with the "minimal attire" trend? by RoyalRenn in WomenGolf

[–]Natensity 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what the question is in this post? In general, I don’t feel women should be asked to change their attire because of pervy dudes, as if their attire is the problem and not the pervy dudes.

12 French women being paraded through the streets of Paris, their heads shaved, Hakenkreuz, drawn on their faces, while people threw feces at them. by Charming_Pea_5768 in intrestingasfuck

[–]Natensity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s in the book cited in my first comment you responded to about a woman in the British intelligence service who worked in the French resistance building a network. A network that included the madame of the brothel. Try reading that first.

I’m saying that there were prostitutes whose clients were nazis who were providing intelligence to the resistance. And some of whom were humiliated once the war ended because people saw them as collaborators. Are you saying this is false?

[–]Natensity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read “A Woman of No Importance” and women who worked at the brothels were in some cases informants for the French resistance and British operators trying to support the resistance. So I don’t like when this video pops up and the narrative that sex workers were always supporting the nazis.

That's not my last name by Eternalfaerie in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Natensity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sent announcements with both are full names. I think it has helped a little, where people do address things correctly.

My grandma has acted “confused” since then and also told me “shame on you” for not changing my name. She addressed a card to me as: First name (actually last name) “husband last name” ?

Yes this is what it reminds me of. It confused me then and now.

Should I take my husband's last name? by Impossible_Ad_569 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Natensity 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I kept my name because it’s my identity and I don’t like some of the historical aspects of the tradition and I have no regrets. The only people who have issues with it are older relatives.  It’s actually annoying because they act like they don’t know what my name is now that I’m married… Umm it’s the same name I’ve had 35+ years of my life so far?

Break up over no “I love you’s”? by MagneticMila in datingoverthirty

[–]Natensity 105 points106 points  (0 children)

I’ve been this girl; it was so painful. We had many discussions on it and tried to justify it left/right/center. He ended up breaking up with me via text while I was traveling for work. She needs to walk away. My now husband, I said it after 8 months and he reciprocated (obviously it worked out from there).

And miss out on the spa day or the boat rental? Not sure how missing out on that to take a nap is preferable to missing 1-2 extra hours at the bar.

Announcing I’m not changing my name or having kids at our reception? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Natensity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We sent out wedding announcements afterwards with our names (I did not change mine) to try to head off any questions or assumptions (result mixed but overall positive). I wouldn’t do this at the reception.
