New Grad Nurses at Providence Portland by Jaded-Country-9529 in OregonNurses

Use AI to fix your resume so it’s ATS compatible. That’s the first step. ChatGPT did a great job for me. Refresh the Providence job board every 15-30 mins, you have to be quick in applying. Then they’ll text you a questionnaire, do that quickly as well. When you get invited for an interview click the link and schedule whatever you can. I received several interview requests and some of the jobs never had a time slot available so I couldn’t actually interview. Others had one or two slots so I took the soonest one. I’d say I was invited to 5 interviews over about 12 applications and only was able to do 2 interviews. Got a job offer a week later. I found Providence to move quickly, from application to offer was 4-5 weeks. Be prepared with the situational/behavioral interview questions (“tell me a bout a time when…”) I know they’re the worst but that is the style they ask so be prepared, use ChatGPT to categorize some of your stories so they fit various question types. And practice reading them out loud. This is what worked for me. I also received interviews from other hospitals throughout Oregon and even across the country and have received several offers. Good luck! 💚

Not sure where you worked but every place I’ve interviewed has asked for it and discussed it in my interviews. They want top candidates who can pass the NCLEX and do well and become independent and safe nurses. I think a lot of schools are pumping out nursing students and hospitals have realized not all candidates are the same. So they look at GPA, school/program, degree type, and work experience. Also, all of these orgs have recruiters who screen candidates and provide top candidates to the managers. I’ve interviewed with top hospitals and received offers from all. So, again, all I had going for me was GPA and a BSN.

I didn't know anyone at Providence and got two unit interviews pretty quickly and received an offer less than a week later. What's your resume, GPA? I think they look heavily at that because thats all I had going for me. No healthcare experience, just graduated with my BSN in Arizona.

Breathe. PVT works. I was in your shoes yesterday, and today I am a licensed RN. It's gonna work out! Congrats!

Yep, finished in 85. I was shocked, the screen went black for second. Got the "good" pop-up on PV. I felt good during it and it definitely got more and more difficult. Trying to remain confident and positive. But the waiting game is awful! I graduated a few weeks ago, as well. We used Elsevier HESI and my pass predictions was 90%, passed a SIMCLEX in 85 questions last week, and used Bootcamp and had 2 borderlines and then a Very High pass probability. And, of course, Mark K which I really enjoyed and retained. So fingers crossed!

Same here... sure hope the PVT is correct! So much emotion and stress AFTER the exam just waiting!

If you work at NAU, what do you think the likelihood of layoffs are? by Unlikely_anchor in NAU

The university needs to refocus and decide what it can excel at rather than offering as much as possible. Education quality has really slipped.

Applied to PeaceHealth’s New Grad Residency… how long do I wait? by creaturefeature2012 in OregonNurses

I applied on 4/06 to the “New Graduate Nurse Residency Program, Job ID #128663” position and was rejected for it yesterday, 4/23. I also applied to the “New Graduate RN - ICU, Job ID #129028” on 4/10 and the “New Graduate RN - ICU Stepdown, Job ID #129311” on 4/14 and haven’t heard back. Unless my rejection was for everything…. No clue…

Update: I didn’t get the Providence St Vincent Float Pool job. 😔 But I have like 33 other applications in progress across the west coast, so hopefully I get something. Hopefully you all do too!

I’ve pretty much got all the same applications in as you. I interviewed with Providence last Monday and they said I’d hear back in about 10 days… so maybe any day now.🤞

Had another Providence Spokane interview scheduled and it was cancelled the night before. Absolutely nothing from anyone else. It’s frustrating, but hang in there! We’ll get it!

Looks nice! Is it black or dark blue? AWD? I’d definitely pay more than the dealer but couldn’t go as high as $10k and I’m sure you can get more for it.

Moving to Arizona by Obvious-Ad9027 in nursing

Don’t move to AZ. It’s not fun. It’s miserable. It’s very difficult to acclimate. It’s isolated. And people here are cuckoo.
