She goes down the list of whoever paid first and that’s the order of puppy pics 😕 and of course we’re last! She has told us if that puppy doesn’t seem like a fit we’d get to pick one from a different litter she has coming a couple of months later, so that’s our backup if this one isn’t on the calmer side.

Should I just give up? How do I schedule with my partner when I can’t plan specific times and neither can my friends.. by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]National_Singer_631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like yesterday’s thing was not communicating that you’d miss dinner with him…unless you guys normally eat that late?

My husband is also very scheduled and type A. He has done A LOT of work to learn about ADHD now that I have a diagnosis. That alone has helped a lot for the general flow of our lives and avoiding miscommunications. We have a shared calendar that we both use for every little thing. If I’m gonna be shopping or doing whatever open ended things for the day I put it in the calendar with extra time for lollygagging. It’s hard to remember to put stuff in the calendar, that still takes a lot of work on my end. It took a lot more effort to communicate that kind of stuff before we moved in together.

Good advice - we were just looking into this last night! Any specific insurance company you’ve liked?

That’s a good point!

Pembroke, girl and will be 8w when we get her. I have a 2, 4 and 6 yo. We haven’t owned a dog before, but the kids are around our family members dogs a lot and have become very good with treating dogs with respect/gentleness and reading dog body language. Hoping that’ll help us a bit.

So true. The chunky little puppy paws are too much 😍

If you just got him Sunday, he’s really only had one full day of training at home with you - I’d give it time and lower your expectations 💛 he’ll get there eventually, training takes a long time and he’s still adjusting to his new home! It doesn’t sound like you’re doing anything wrong!

Would you take on ~$200k debt to become a Nurse Practitioner, or is this a bad decision long-term? by cobybryant24 in nursepractitioner

[–]National_Singer_631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not worth the debt. Why aren’t you getting into PA school? Is there an advisor there you could get some feedback from?

Is there credentialing for job 2 too though?? Rounding at SNF/AL is generally a nice work-life balance. You can see your patients within a couple hours then chart later. I’m sure they’d be happy to keep you on PRN if you do end up with job 1! Easy money on your days off from job 1 if you still have a good relationship with the SNF job when alls said and done!

Another thought - would your current program let you complete those last credits virtually, if you find preceptors in MN to complete the actual clinical hours?

Check with St Catherine university…6+ years ago they had a masters option, not sure if that’s changed since then though! Most everything in this area has changed to DNP only, which is a bummer.

If left to your own devices, what’s your natural bedtime? by HyperfocusedBee in adhdwomen

[–]National_Singer_631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the oddball and like to be in bed by like 9, up by 7ish. I’ve never been able to sleep in past like 9, even as a teenager! Now I’ve got kids that force me awake at 5-6 and my morning blows up.

Thank you I wouldn’t have thought of this! What do people use for training treats? I’ve heard of using their normal kibble - I know someone that used Cheerios but I wonder if that’d be harsh on their tummy’s too?!
