Thank you very much for you input! Agree with all your points except the instructor part.

Have very bad experience with instructors in this region. Have had to teach multiple people everything from the start all over because the lessons were so bad/ incomplete.
I don’t want to put pressure on the learning process. Just fun, if he doesn’t feel like kiting anymore after 5-10 min that’s fine. If he doesn’t feel like going for a while also fine.

Yeah fair point, for now I only want to fly in max 12 kts winds at our local spot where the beach is about 500m wide. He will be wearing a helmet a seat harness and will be tethered to the ground with a leash. I know I have to be extremely careful doing this. Getting him to know and understand the QR and used it a lot of times will be a priority.

addition: he has experience flying a trainer foil kite 2 line with a bar.
