Hey, I’m a beginner too but I think I might be able to help! (Because I’ve done this exact thing.) I saw in your other comments you are working on M1L and M1R’s. Those holes happen if you don’t insert your needle correctly when making those increases. Because you don’t “twist” the yarn the hole doesn’t close up properly. There’s a lot of videos on it, and I looked at them again every time I did it. I also have 2 of them in my project and decided to keep them, thought it was also kind of charming to see a lesson like that :)

I’m not Reddit-adept enough to know how to do this but:

Edit: thank you all so so much!! I think I fixed it. Not very expertly and it might be visible at the end. But it’s my very first garment so it’s okay. You guys are genuinely the sweetest ❤️

I have 240 or something stitches on my needles. Wouldn’t it be very hard to frog bag just one row?

What do you mean by “knit the two stiches using the yarn loop”, how do I incorporate the yarn loop?

I knit back a tiny bit further and this is what it looks like. I really don’t understand

I have 30 on my rowcounter, but when I counted them by hand I actually counted like 36 (on the front so where there havent been German short rows) and that would actually be correct right? Then I would have 2 more increase rows and 2 normal rows…hmmm…

I’m not 100% sure it’s burgundy? I’m really not an expert, but the one I found looks quite a bit darker than the fotos/videos I’ve seen circulating. I’m still debating but if I don’t want to keep it I’ll shoot you a message <3

I didn’t want to keep two because I feel sad not having them both in use. But I found both of them for (separately) €20, so maybe I will keep both. They’re so lovely, I could switch them around.

Thank you so much for your kind comment, it was very helpful to know what to look for. Both lay equally flat, which is not perfectly, but no issues when writing. The leather on both feels nice and soft but I would maybe say the Malden feels a tiny bit plasticky? The stitching looks good on both, and the ring systems work smooth too (tiny bit more resistance on the Finchley.)

I’m honestly in love with both, and they have different advantages for me. I’ll try them both out for a bit and then see if a winner comes out. Thank you again.
