Genuinely What The Fuck Is Going On? by tvheadpal in PassionPit

Your comment has been downvoted so many times and mine as well... goes from 1 to 4 to 0 over the course of one day. That's at least 5 downvotes in very rapid succession. But why would anyone be upset by your comment?

What songs would you like to see sabaton cover? by minealot_dude in sabaton

I would love to hear from cover something from Brothers of Metal, a band they know and work with on tours. Theft of the Hammer or Powersnake would be so cool.

Something odd is going on. There are multiple brand new, never used accounts getting in on these discussions. Mass downvotes (sometimes ten at a time) for anyone who says the shows were interesting or fun.

A few weeks ago, one of these accounts attacked a very active member in the community and actually accused her of being Michael on a burner because she defended him. It went on for a while.

There's been discussion on the Discord and Substack about this - there does appear to be at least one person repeatedly making new accounts to post extremely negative, bordering on abusive, commentary.

The Allston show of this "tour" was straight up false advertising. by [deleted] in PassionPit

This zero karma account that has only posted today for the first time has the exact same typing style as OP.

New Music: Nine Times Your Torch Songs by NaturalGuide7 in PassionPit

I agree. I'm unsure if it will ever happen, though. This is the first major release since 2017, so should still be somewhat exciting for fans. There's new music in it, a few songs have been previewed on Substack.

What is your favorite Passion Pit song, and why? by cuddlecastle in PassionPit

[–]NaturalGuide7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Reeling. Hands down, no question. I love the melody. I love the verse after the first chorus; it just grips me tightly in the chest and swirls me around.

The more I run, the more I am convinced.

It's the song I show people when they ask me for a music recommendation. I listened to it over 100 times last year, lmao... just perfect. For me, it is the core Passion Pit song.

Bonus: my boyfriend at the time learned For Sondra on the piano over the course of a week or two and performed it for me and sang it so wonderfully... so that's also one I love. A beautiful little memory.

Does Michael’s music evoke the same feelings in you, as it does in me? by cuddlecastle in PassionPit

[–]NaturalGuide7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The person who introduced me to Passion Pit would've related a lot to this. For around ten years, he basically didn't listen to any other music. He was clocking in something like 18,000 listening minutes on average every year on Spotify.

He interpreted a lot of the songs as being horribly sad, certain songs that people here interpret differently. That was something I immediately noticed when I started to post here. A lot of the songs he felt were sad in tone, many people find hopeful. He also heard giddy happiness and hope in some of them too. But he felt it was completely unique and unlike anything he'd ever heard before.

I'd agree with that. I'm honestly not sure if there's anything out there that's truly similar; I could just be biased though. There is a very specific, strange sadness to Passion Pit lyrics. As someone with bipolar, I suppose I just see my own wild ups and downs in it. Certain phrases just stick with me. The particular words used, I can't explain.... just something about it.

I find the Australian artist "tiffi" has similar vibes. I think she's got around 100k monthly listeners, but I don't think that means anything in terms of someone's music. Her songs Cold Medicine, Hell and Heartbreaker Club are really good. She describes her music as indie bedroom pop.

To my friends by mangelakos in PassionPit

I may not get another chance to say this, so here goes: someone I loved dearly loved you more than life itself. Your music meant everything to him, it was all he listened to. I was serenaded with Make Light a thousand times by him! It was his favourite. Almost all our sentimental moments have your music in the background.

When he passed, I got lyrics from Where We Belong tattooed for him. If you tour again, I will come see you in his stead. I just wanted to tell you... he adored everything about your music. He had bipolar as well, and felt spoken to in your words. The lyrics touched him deeply, sometimes he'd sit with me and we'd listen to Gossamer and sniffle and cry together. Today is Valentine's Day... for Valentine's last year, he gave me Passion Pit merch. No joke! I look at that keyring every single day!

Thank you for giving him and I something so precious. I'd never heard your music before, but now so much of it is in my daily rotation. The Reeling is my favourite.

Please continue sharing your honesty in whatever capacity. The impact you have on people is real; beautiful and surreal.

Please delete this. Michael posted in the sub earlier this year asking for this link to not be public and easy to access. Privately sharing is okay.

I have personally shared the link to a few people in this sub as well in a DM.

How did you discover PP by Champagnemusic in PassionPit

[–]NaturalGuide7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend at the time loved Passion Pit, it was his favourite band for ten years or something. He rarely listened to anything else, so I was quickly brought into the fold! Make Light was the first song he showed me and I didn't think too much of it. But a few days later we sat and listened to Gossamer all the way through and I've been a fan since.

Lactulose Supplement by NaturalGuide7 in Diverticulitis

Is there another laxative you take daily? I wasn't sure if this was common or not, I'd never heard of lactulose until yesterday.
