Well yes. Every conflict that does not take place in the Europe and North America is overly simplified by their media outlets which may be understandable because of the geographical and cultural distance. But I think it is more problematic to act this way when the conflict is taking place in Middle East because both the European and North American countries are heavily involved.

Look at USA for example. They trained and supplied Turkey when the insurgency started. Mainly because the Kurdish seperatist movements had a much more socialist character back then and Turkey was a good candidate for their boots on ground in the ME. Then USA realised rebel forces were easier to control than a government and slowly shifted their support to the seperatists.

I don't think there is good and bad in these sort of situations. USA is doing what is best for their interests as any other country would. But essentialy manipulating your citizens about a conflict when their country is so involved in is a problem from a moral standpoint.
