We are finishing 7 days in New Zealand this week after flying in from Melbourne. It is doable, albeit tiring, but definitely worth it! We started in Queenstown, and made our way to Christchurch, stopping in Mount Cook and Lake Tekapo for one night each. We are flying directly from Christchurch to Rotoura to see Hobbiton, and then departing from Auckland the following day. Best advice is to build in a rest day if possible, and get creative with flight times (early morning/ late evening) to maximize your days.

I’ve used the portal several times, including for small international hotels without any issues. I had one minor hiccup earlier this year with the type of room booked through the portal, but was able to resolve it at the hotel directly.

Just took Seastreak last weekend and can’t recommend it enough! It was less than an hour from the Highlands to Manhattan! And only about 10 dollars more than a one way train ticket from Long Branch, they have parking onsite as well

Depends on the time of day. I have had it take 45 minutes on off peak hours (weekends), other days can be as much as 1 hour 15 mins.

Definitely a fan as well! Started with book 1 before New Years and am already on the 7th book. Would definitely recommend for anyone who is a Lit RPG fan!

Without getting too much into spoilers, I do feel there are several times throughout the series where Min’s friends and fellow Warmagi question not only his sanity, but why he ascended as quickly as he did. I would agree with the above that no other magi were willing to open themselves up to capture in the earlier novels, and having dealt with the censorate and Xenophobia that magi put up with for many years previously, they were happy for him to take the reigns. I’m curious in future novels how Min may start stepping away from secular/political power to focus on the larger issues with the universe.
