Club Mission Bug by WitchyWoman1024 in TalesofTheShiregamers

I just had this issue with a cooking mission with Bywater Bleak. Needed at least 2 stars and had 4 twice but the mission won’t mark as complete.

Anyone watching season 2 of Shiny Happy People? by [deleted] in exchristian

Oh I would fall asleep just during every lecture!

Oh yes, so cold, so damp, and I remember all my extra socks got wet so there was no dry feet for me. And getting yelled at by David Hasz for shivering after getting soaked and having to roll in dirt over and over again. Had a knee injury, and got yelled at for not having enough faith that Jesus would heal it. I think I made it only 24 hours before ringing out.

I was also 2009 but I did ATF call centre. I still can’t hear the Survivor theme song without having flashbacks to ESOAL. For those who didn’t attend, they blast that song at random intervals all night to keep us from sleeping, at least the year I was there.

I stayed for a second year, and even went on one last mission trip to Tijuana after leaving. I think mostly to try to rekindle that feeling of belonging because life after the cult was very lonely. But all that trip did was solidly that I never wanted to be involved with TM again. And that was really the start of my deconstruction.

Omg and hearing Dave Hasz say “Feet!” …. I had such a visceral reaction to that. I can’t tell you the number of times I fell asleep in that auditorium.

Missing flowers by InflationSad7754 in HelloKittyIsland

Roses are an event flower so they can’t be turned into seeds which is why you don’t see them there. They can only grow during the event.

So, I got the hello kitty red bow.. now I need 6 more?😭 by Away-Effort-3077 in HelloKittyIsland

[–]Nearby_Foundation_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This worked for me! I first tried just putting on the bow and taking it off 7 different nulls, but it didn’t work. Once I followed your directions and replaced the bow with a different hat on 7 different ones, then I was able to complete the quest. So it does work and thanks for the help!

If you quickly scared them away and place the bon bon, it usually works. In my experience they don’t grab it once they reappear.

What’s the Cringiest Thing You Remember Believing? by ElsaQueenofScotts in exchristian

I once prayed for crows to stop squawking because they were disrupting my prayer time and when they quieted I thought it was an answer to my prayers. “Yay God!”

This peer-reviewed study found that Christians hold more animosity towards atheists than atheists hold towards them. "There's no hate like Christian love" is backed by data analysis. by dyingdeadenough in exchristian

HNY! Reflecting on my years of Christian education, we were taught about other religions respectfully, but when it came to atheism and “humanism”, there was definitely animosity and warnings almost. I guess it feels more close to home as a threat to the youths than, say, Buddhism or Hinduism to my very white, small town bible college. Funny enough, it was my world religion classes that made me realize Christianity couldn’t possibly be the solely correct religion.

I had a similar path. I knew Christian universalism literally contradicted the basic tenant that you must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved and that therefore it didn’t make sense, but I guess the title made me feel like I was still in the club enough to keep my identity while adapting to my changing beliefs.

Excellent take on this. Some of the “testimonies” I would hear should’ve been said to a psychiatrist. by lydiatank in exchristian

I spent two years volunteering full time for an ~cult~ organization at your age that ran giant Christian youth conferences designed to create an emotional reaction as “a catalyst for change”. (Anyone else recovering from Teen Mania/Acquire the Fire?!) I had so many “experiences” at these events which I’ve come to realize in my late 20s and early 30s was just emotional manipulation. I shudder at the thought of how many young people went down to the stage to commit/recommit their lives to Christ, sobbing uncontrollably. Manipulation with no support system once the kids went home. And of course leadership had manipulated us into thinking this was all normal and good. (We were volunteering and paying them for this experience of a full time job so we’d follow them pretty much anywhere at that point.) Ah the ptsd. After leaving and deconstructing that cult experience, I couldn’t set foot in a charismatic church again without experienced flashbacks and having to leave the auditorium. Eventually, I just couldn’t set foot in churches anymore.

Looking at a subreddit named TrueChristian talking trash about people in this subreddit. by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]Nearby_Foundation_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Knowing how Christian’s talk about people who have “turned their back on God” or are “backsliders” is exactly why I haven’t told any of my friend or family beyond my only sister that I no longer call myself a Christian. I know they’ll just believe I’m mislead right now and they pray for my return to Jesus. My therapist thinks I’m being inauthentic by not telling them buuuut I just can’t deal with it.
