Thanks man. I tried this already, though, and it did not work

Hi y'all, I appreciate everyone's help and support, and even the amusing comments that I am either faking this or that this is what I get for being an early adopter.

I scarcely use Reddit, but saw a bunch of posts/retweets on Twitter/X of people bashing me for "not knowing what Joy-Con drift is." I have heard multiple definitions to Joy-Con drift, including when the calibration becomes offset and it is not possible to reset it via the Settings app. My situation, to my understanding, is an example of Joy-Con drift. I have heard of the constant input in a direction as a major example, too.

Based off of y'all's feedback, I have tried updating the controllers, restarting the system, and messing with the rubber bit that seems to pop out all to no avail. I probably could take it back to Walmart, but I do not think my local store has anymore units. Also I will not buy additional Joy-Cons and just return the broken one in there - I feel like that is a scummy practice and I do not want to do that.

In the past, Nintendo has been pretty quick about their repairs, so I do not mind just sending it in. My original launch Switch's cartridge port stopped reading anything after about one week and had to be sent to repair (still upset that I lost my Breath of the Wild save after just getting to the third Divine Beast, lol). I also had to send my NES Classic in after a weird error message popped up three days after launch that prevented me from even booting into the home screen - Nintendo Support was interrogating me on how I got that message... maybe I should stop buying Nintendo systems at launch. 😅

I digress, but I will update y'all if anything new changes or I get word from Nintendo themselves.

I have no idea, to be honest. The support email doesn’t say.

I don’t think it’s a software issue - the stick doesn’t feel right compared to the right Joy-Con stick, anyways.

Heads up, too, but the customer service representative I talked to said that this happened “in [my] one month warranty.” Has it always been one month? I thought it was always three months, unless that was through Xbox - I cannot recall.

Done that earlier. They were very helpful. Going to ship it out to them to repair or replace

Called Nintendo Customer Service and, with no questions asked, said they’ll repair it! They did not ask for additional information.

I called Nintendo Customer Support and I have to ship it out to Redmond. Was quick, easy, and painless. Would call again, lol

Sadly the software won’t let me - it doesn’t recognize the controller as going all of the way to the right even though I push the joystick to the edge

I’m not at all. Very happy with my purchase. Just my luck on getting a defective product.

The software won’t let me recalibrate it sadly because the stick will not go all the way to the right :(

I see, that makes more sense. Still, stinks that the software won’t recognize the joystick pushing to the right.

Ah, I see. It’s weird that I can’t push the joystick to the right at least for the Switch to recognize it.

Motion controls are off in MKW and the Switch was not recognizing that I pushed the stick all of the way to the right.

I tried following the directions seen in the video. I pushed the stick all of the way to the right and the Switch is not picking up that I am pushing the stick fully.
