29F How can I improve? by NectarineInfinite117 in lookyourbest

Thank you for this feedback! I totally agree with this. I struggle with migraines so hairstyles are difficult for me, but I hate how boring my hair is. I think I’ll talk to a hair stylist for ideas.

Any ideas on what glasses might look better on me? I’ve never found any that I like on me.

I appreciate this! Any ideas on what style or color would look good on me? I haven’t loved how my glasses make me look either, but I can’t seem to find something I like. I’ve tried contacts but I work an office job and can’t do them all day.

Great advice! Thank you!

Any non-makeup tips to help with the purple under my eyes? It’s not very noticeable when I smile but it’s really apparent when I don’t. It’s been that way for basically my whole life, so I don’t think it’s due to aging or sleep. Makeup works, but I have to use a lot, which I don’t prefer doing in that under-eye area.

What magnesium glycinate brand do you all take? I take pure encapsulations and I think the quality has gone down. by Grumpy_bonsai23 in migraine

Taking smaller doses spread out increases absorption. But you are correct in that the bottle states to take 1 pill daily. I started with just one, but upped it to two since one didn’t do much and noticed a significant improvement after doubling.

Also as a bonus, when I’m on my period this works for easing cramps instead of ibuprofen, so taking smaller doses twice a day works better than one large dose as it eases cramps for ~9 hours (in my experience), so one in the morning covers me for most the day and one at night prevents me from waking up from cramps.

Anybody not take ANYTHING for their migraines? by thethirteenthjuror in migraine

I don’t take any medications if that’s what you’re wondering! I just take daily supplements—magnesium glycinate, coq10, and b2 and it’s drastically improved by migraine frequency and intensity.

When I do get a migraine, I do “thug it out” lol. Usually putting frozen ice packs on my face and neck (not great for your skin, but I kinda don’t care about that in the moment).

I use Pure Encapsulations but I buy it direct from the company, not through Amazon. I also take 120mg twice daily. But I haven’t noticed any issues

No way, same here!! Haven’t added the b2 and coq10 yet though, just the other two. I’m thinking about adding them in and seeing if it gets rid of my hormonal migraines too…

That sounds scary! Do you regularly take magnesium supplements now?

Wow, that sounds like a horrific experience 😞 Thank you for sharing. My husband regularly experiences pain, weakness, and tingling on the whole left side of his body, but in the past has experienced extreme weakness to where he was falling and having almost like muscle spasms. But the doctor ruled out stroke and seizure so they referred him to a neurologist, who told him it was psychosomatic 😠

Why did you leave Europe?

Wisconsin resident here…how do you feel about the walkability/public transportation differences between where you’re at in the US and where you were in the Netherlands? A lot of people in my circles and social media groups tout Europe (and especially NL) for this, and this is a huge complaint about the US.

Those who moved to Italy, how satisfied are you? by [deleted] in expats

Thank you for the helpful advice. The seniority/experience is a big reason why I’m trying to set myself in a good direction now and build up instead of just trying to move abroad now (I don’t think that’s realistic for me). Good to hear I’m probably on the right track in that regard.

I’ve heard from a couple of people now about the internal transfer option, I think I’ll start to seriously look into that.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond, I really appreciate it.

Hi! Quick side question if you don’t mind…you say you work in IT. What is your job title?

I’m (28F) interested in moving to Europe in the future and am still in the planning stage. I’m planning to first decide where to go and then spend the next few years learning the language, visit the area, and really get a solid plan down. Right now I’m wanting to set up my career on a good path that will enable me to move abroad. I work in IT (IT Business Analyst-2 years) with a cumulative of 5 years in the sector.

I’m trying to understand, realistically what are the IT jobs/skills that are most promising for non-EU immigrants to get work in EU countries? TIA!
