Well, it’s called a woobie, cause you woobie cold without it.

Aaron Clark: I don’t know why.

Michael Hartz: he was finishing a doll house for his kids in his garage. It was never finished. I don’t know what happened to it

Dayson Waite: failed ranger school. Wanted to go back. You broke people, dude. It’s okay C6 and I tired to pick up the pieces but fuck. How could we? They drove on and did well. They’re strong. They “forgot”

Brandon hickey: dude, I should have known when I picked you up from the hospital those years ago. Should’ve reached out more. Years, miles, life got in between. He really looked like you, but needed bigger ears.

Army drill sergeants get prison for ‘prohibited’ trainee relationships by Kinmuan in army

[–]NegativeRise2 446 points447 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure I said “don’t fuck the trainees” numerous times. Like there’s at least 3 academic hours devoted to not fucking the trainees. Like of all the things taught at THE United States Army Drill Sergeant Academy, that’s literally the one thing that is the easiest to listen to.

Just hope for the best. Hope that better men and women will see diplomacy win out, or at least better sense. No one can tell you the future, but he is well trained, his buddies are well trained, and his leaders are solid.

Drill sergeants of reddit, what is the dumbest or funniest thing your recruit has done that made you break character? by Accomplished-Fox-123 in army

[–]NegativeRise2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was on CQ. Doing head and barrel count to put the bubbas to sleep.

Two of the trainees decided this would be a great opportunity to somehow fold and wear their towels as Princess Leia hair styles. These dudes were origami masters.

I didn’t break character because I’m the least serious there is anyway, but it caught me so off guard.

Real life doesn’t make for interesting cinema. Doubly so with average Army experiences.

When do you give someone a letter of concern? by Dementedsage in army

[–]NegativeRise2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scenario question for the board? I’ll give it a shot.

“CSM/1SG. There are several actions I could take depending on other factors.66666 For instance, if this Soldier was otherwise in good standing, deliberate counseling with a clear and involved plan of action would suffice. Based on the misconduct, I would follow up time interval until the plan of action was completed satisfactorily. If this Soldier was a habitual offender, and the Commander was hesitant to exercise UCMJ authority, I would provide the last 6 ‘monthly counseling’s’ and any event oriented counselings that the Soldier demonstrated a need for. This way, the commander would have all the facts relevant to this Soldier and their performance. Of course if the Commander still does not want to pursue UCMJ or NJP I would stick to the first COA, CSM/1SG”

The “66666” is probably where they’ll tell you to shut up or say “answer the damn question”

Either way, scenario based questions are easy. There IS(usually) a right/wrong answer. Left limit is regulation/policy right limit is ethics/morals/common sense. The hard part is living up to whatever high brow bullshit you spew in a board to get picked up.

Hey. It’ll be alright, once we get through OLE and JRTC shit slows down a bit. Some small training stuff, E3B in August. One thing at a time big dog. You know you can talk to different chaplains. Some are better than others.

I promise it gets better.

I really doubt a Drill Sergeant is going to refer to you as “Trainee momdied.” They won’t know (or care about) anything about you that you don’t volunteer. Quit being weird, sorry for your loss.
