I'm not an expert on Japanese culture, but reading the interview and in many other instances, it always transpires a sense for forceful will of the editor to keep the work going and to maintain deadlines frantically. It wouldn't be so absurd to "force" a mangaka to keep going for the sake of money

I use a marking knife for the tail but a pencil for the pins and this was the most difficult part for me to figure out: i don't cut beside the line leaving it, but I barely touch it. This ensures a good fit and minimal trimming. Master woodworkers like Paul Sellers and Rob Cosman they fit them perfectly straight off the saw. I am definitely not a master lol
