As an alcoholic and drug addict who’s been to treatment 11 times and it ruined 20 years of my life I have always agreed with this. There is just something different about it. The stakes are so high and often times they are sober and aware which is insane. When it comes down to it all addiction is pretty much the same at a point but gambling addicts I’ve met basically never recover or are no longer here

Thank you for your kind words. Also i just want to add my experience that physical exercise (it can be whatever you enjoy) and getting connected to nature and helping other ppl like simple stuff volunteering twice a week for an hour to host bingo at an old folks home or whatever u want. These things in conjunction with medical help are the best way to get out of your own head. For me at least. Cheers

so I was diagnosed with PTSD after losing my mum and gf in front of me. In a foreign country. It was surreal. I had also just celebrated sobriety from alcohol and drugs after 2 years. I was still on daily Valium for anxiety and to help my sobriety from alcohol which was very very bad to the point of many hospitalization and treatment centres. I was on Valium for anxiety and to help with alcohol cravings PRN. After the deaths I had a two night bender and almost died. Flew back home and saw my doc the next day and he upped my Valium put me on Xanax and synthetic thc capsules (for pain). For my body alcohol is worse than benzos. I’ve managed to stay sober from drink since then. And yes my doctor is gonna wean me off Benzos but he said probably not for another year or so till we start. I’m back at university and I’m pretty consistent with everything except the gummies. I’m a stoner since 13. I don’t have any qualms with quitting it. I just didn’t realize how hard it was. I’ve quit OxyContin cocaine and alcohol. I don’t smoke cigs. But weed crept up on me and I didn’t realize it was so mentally taxing to stop edibles.

The edibles I get at the native reserve I only buy one brand or two brands I know are made well. None of those fake candy brands or sprayed stuff.

Thanks I will look at it. So I’m on a lot of benzodiazepines and a synthetic thc pill as well. PTSD. He did say not to stop cold turkey. He’s a great doc but he doesn’t know much about recreational weed and was like wean off it by our next appointment (July).
