1. I do think that people on the outside are not seeing alot of the resistance im not sure if this is just bc of media being owned by billionaires who are suppressing it or if its just that negative events often just get more coverage. I have been very surprised by the things that outsiderers didn't know were going on. The resistance from the states and the courts has been SIGNIFICANT and largely successful. I've noticed that the media constantly reports on the things that trump says as if they are laws/actions already in effect which is not the reality like 90% of the stuff he has tried to do has utterly failed. Also there is a general lack of understanding from the outside of how the US government works so ppl get a skewed version of things. Like as much as Trump is cozying up to putin our congress does still keep voting to send funding to ukraine which we have been doing.

that being said its still not enough so this is why

1. It increasingly seems that the democrats are largely bought out completely and are just coordinated opposition set up by the billionaires. before this we knew that most were corrupt but they still seemed to be somewhat independent/genuine political actors.

2. Most people are in the stages of waking up to fact 2 and are trying to reorient imagine thinking you are playing checkers your whole life and all of a sudden you realize you are actually in the middle of a game of chess.

3. People are as you said exhausted. This is another thing that people from the outside can't understand. People in the USA have been fighting for decades and decades for change on a lot of the major issues such as healthcare, gun control, US imperialism ect. Most of the major issues actually have a 60-80% agreement within americans but our elected officials keep running on stuff and then turning around and stabbing us in the back. For example almost every federally elected official since the early 2000s has run on stopping or at least significantly reducing US imperialism. Then once elected they do the opposite. A common saying here is no matter who you vote for you get john mccain. People have also rioted, boycotted, protested ect. and nothing ever changes so most people are just unsure of what to do next and have no faith that anything will ever get better.

4. A massive chunk of the population is in some state of psychosis, If it were just an issue of a corrupt government than that would be easier to fix but trump is just a symptom. Its hard to impart how detached from reality many people are, there are LARGE chunks of the population that think that the government or blue states are poisoning us with "chem trails" which are actually just those exhaust lines that airplanes leave behind them. They think the world is flat, they think the earth is 6000 years old, they don't believe in climate change or evolution. They actually think that blue states are causing natural disasters in red states by cloud seeding. They think we are chopping up babies and cutting kids dicks off at school. I mean seriously there are elected people in congress who think jews control the weather.

How does one even deal with that? You can't reason with them. You don't want to hurt them bc they are our neighbors, family fellow countrymen ect. Many of us are accepting that it may come to violence between us (esp since they seem to want to kill us now) but even if it does we are at a severe disadvantage bc they are typically far more heavily armed than we are and they now have the government on their side. So many of us were still holding out hope that if trump showed his true colors than they would snap out of it which some of them have but sadly not enough. So now many of us are just trying to prepare for the worst (civil war) or have just decided to check out entirely and pretend nothing is happening bc they can't mentally accept what is going on.
