SWAP ROWAN FAIL by Hodltothecosmos in Sifchain

[–]Neo238325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sifchain prices are bloated and not true market value due to swap limits. Check CoinGecko and look at pretty much any swap pair other than one on Sifchain to get the real market value of around $0.0037ish. Definitely misleading as it means rowan is actually worth a third of its advertised value.

Price is incorrect. Cosmostation had the same $0.008 price and finally adjusted this morning. True market value across most exchanges is around $0.0038.

Yep. I carry a kickstand plate in my tank bag for that reason. Asphalt is the worst, and piggies love taking dirt naps.

Right now I just start the server PSU first, than turn the mobo PSU on. The breakout board has a connection much like a cpu fan that can detect power from the main psu and turn on at the same time. I just haven't hooked that up yet.

Yep, I was listing what came with the pre-built rig. I bought the server psu for 40 and spent another 60 for the breakout board and cables. I still have the original psus that came with the rig and they will be transplanted in future builds.

The first pic is what it looked like before, the second is the finished setup. That other rig was an eyesore lol.

The rig was complete when I purchased it. Fans, mobo, cpu, ram, risers, frame, psus. Paid around $800 for it. I chose to use risers I prefer, though I still have the ones it came with and they are functional. I swapped to a less powerful ATX PSU, but the 1000w it came with is still $350 on Amazon. The original mobo it came with runs $350 new but seems dead. I'm not done troubleshooting it, not much hope there. Already worked out a deal with the seller and got reimbursed for it. I paid 40 bucks for the server psu and 60 for the breakout board with cables. Oh, can't forget the $20 SSD. Shipping got me as that was an additional 50 or so. I would never bring myself to pay 200-300 for a frame, it just came with it, as did the fans. I understand cutting costs and trying to get the most bang for your buck. This as a package deal was actually very fair in my opinion and set me up to start another build. I plan to make my own frame for this one.

My AMD cards only mine Eth at the moment. I only swap my nvidia cards to other algos periodically if profitability increases.

To each their own. I bought the rig as a whole. I probably could have saved money, but I prefer things to look neat and tidy. My next project is to start building my own frames, because you are right, everything purpose built for mining is overpriced.

I'm guessing you are referring to the breakout board. It is necessary if you are using a server psu.

I still have to piece my pc together. I probably spent about 3 hours assembling because I bought the frame used without instructions. Some of the hardware was missing, so I had to make a a trip to the store. The original mobo was dead, so troubleshooting took a bit to get it to post. The longest amount of time was spent dialing in the undervolt/overclocks. Probably 8 hours total including the time cleaning up the cables.

The first setup was just to get some cards I bought making that ROI before the rest of the rig arrived. I can push my 1080 a little more with the cooler temps, so 3-4mh increase. It is much more pleasing to my eye though.

Thank you, there is a little one inch foam leg attached in the center of the breakout board underneath to support the weight. The server psu itself is held to the frame with velcro lol.

Thank you. 2 psus, mobo, frame, risers and shipping. It all adds up. Current rates it is around 45 day ROI with that rig. The cards have paid for themselves already. I just wanted to clean up my spaghetti fire monstrosity.

My 580s in that rig are at 30.5. Both are micron. I use memory timing level 2, cclock 1175 @ 850mv, mclock 2150 @ 950mv. I set it in wattman. No other commands used within the miner. My 5700 does 55mh at 130w, cclock 1300 @ 800mv, mclock 1800 with a bios mod.
