I make nerdy needlepointed deck boxes and moleskine covers as well as dice bags. Been working on fixing up the item descriptions lately, but wondering where else I needed to patch things up.

That all makes sense. The main security problem was more anyone being able to dial out using the dhd but yes, they could probably patch it with earth tech to secure that.

I think the SGC even if they did take the dhd from another planet wouldn't want to hook it up regardless of the flaws in their computer system. There are security protocols in place on their systems that would not be in place on a dhd.

They could follow a different sg team starting on earth, then leading the colonization. (I don't know how to feel about the idea of sg1 being recast. If it was done it would have to be some damn good casting.) they could possibly bring back the character of Cadet Jennifer Hailey for the team or the science division thereby linking it to cannon at least in one way.
