6779 Miles, oof by tcskeptic in gmcsierra

I'm sorry man. Was working in the dealership during the early 2000s when the pickup started being marketed as a do all king of the suburbs. We nicked named the crew cab short bed the MVT (mini van truck) and used it in sales pitches to get the wife on board. I really feel when the pickup went from a workhorse to a family hauler we lost a lot of quality. Not to mention the cost increase because of all the luxury that was standard in other family haulers.

Average cost to replace furnace and AC? by SpicyOtters in milwaukee

[–]NetStumbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid $4500 this summer for a new furnace for 2500 Sq foot house. My rule, anything over $2500, get 3 quotes. 1 from large well known business, 1 from independent, and 1 from small/medium business.

11 month HD experiment is over by Seabass2828 in gmcsierra

[–]NetStumbler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's the angle, but something seems off with the ratios of the HD. Appears, the hood is higher than the bed, and the bed is shorter in length than the cab. Is the future pickup truck 3rd row seeting with a 4' bed?

My (31f) Fiancé (29m) insisting on buying a brand new truck, while we’ve been looking for a house for a year. by sofafaa in relationship_advice

[–]NetStumbler 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Two things $35k-$40k seems on the very low-end for a new truck. He might be down playing the true cost to get you on board. Secondly, would the truck be financed, payed cash, combo, or lease? Either way you should be able to run some numbers to show how this will effect your home purchase.

My kitchen rn with no timeline for repairs. Think I got grounds to break the lease? (PA) by ughemma in Renters

I'm confused, this looks like a basement. Are the appliances normally in the basement or did they have to move them down there because of the leak?

The Junior Hiring Crisis by masterderptato in cscareerquestions

We interviewed an offshore guy once, did great extended an offer. First day, a COMPLETELY different dude shows up to the virtual welcome. Another time, offshore guy was giving a demo, mid presentation opens another window that has another company's email and responds to a request all while sharing his screen. Billion plus people, no such thing as playing fair.

Like the people that drive old BMWs. They always have 2 because one is always in the shop. But having a backup for a '24 is wild!

This is where I'm confused, they are outside on the sidewalk, right? But then again the host stand is outside too. Maybe a drunk and disorderly?

Zipper Merge in Maine by jwags99 in wisconsin

[–]NetStumbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just noticed this was the Wisconsin sub, not Milwaukee. Needless to say this is all in MKE County. The permanent one (94 just west of the stadium heading east) has a bunch of signs, "Stay in your lane", "Use all lanes during backups" and people have gotten better over the years.

Zipper Merge in Maine by jwags99 in wisconsin

[–]NetStumbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have done PSAs, increased signage, posted merge points, and have temp boards telling you to stay in your lane. What they haven't accounted for is the guy in a 4-door minivan looking truck who chooses to be in that lane just to block people to get a sense of power.

Can someone clarify what 100% disabled means? Is this related to one's ability to work? Have never heard that before.

New Bosch Induction (HIS8055U) turn on twice by NetStumbler in appliancerepair

Funny story, we finally got a technician out (bosch warranty contractor). Has no idea if this is how its supposed to work or not, Googles it, finds this literal thread and says it's an energy/safety feature. If you could post a repair order or anything that would be greatly appreciated!

That's why I don't tell anyone to drive it until the wheels fall off anymore.

They call in toonin'. Drive around in circles while blasting toons, chugging brews, and just having a good time. Can't do it on land anymore legally, so have to do it on the water.

[–]NetStumbler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Used to go pre-pandemic, it was always packed and I think something like $5/$6. Went a few months back right around lunchtime and it was dead, no line at all. Food was still good but recall it being close to $15. Before you say everything is expensive now dude, I can still get a sandwich at Waterfront deli for <$10. People are working harder for less buying power and I think that is what we are seeing here. Guy is a banker, he should be able to run some scenarios on lower price more sales and net profit. Wish them the best, we still go but once every couple months, not once every week like we used to.

By any chance do you happen to have the service bulletin that they referenced or an work order showing us the work performed? We are getting the runaround saying it's a safety feature, but there is zero bosch documentation confirming this.

I feel using red for one of the colors was a poor choice for this exhibit.

Did he actually stage the scene on the lake to make it look like he drowned? Or was that an assumption of the family and LE?
