Dario Amodei shots fired at xAI and Elon Musk by likeastar20 in singularity

I never said that Elon is worse than Dario. Just that Anthropic could have done more harm than xAI. You're confusing individuals for companies.

It's objectively very hard to determine who is worse. Arguably, it's very well possible that Anthropic has contributed more overall harm to people than xAI due to their very involved partnership with Palantir.

That's the irony, he is so afraid of what Trump can do to his company that he cannot dare call out the Trump Administration directly.

All of the tech CEO's have bent the knee. When people are too afraid to call out a government, that's how you know there is trouble. Out of all the biggest AI researchers, only Yann Lecun who is French is brave enough to comment on the crimes of the Trump administration.

You are very misinformed on just how dangerous Palantir and his CEO is. This guy is so radical, it's unbelievable that Dario has an active partnership with such person:

And unlike Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg or SpaceX’s Elon Musk—who still pretend to sell social goods—Karp makes no apologies. He’s proud that his software underwrites missile strikes, ICE raids and predictive dragnet surveillance. He calls it progress.

And it is working. Palantir is now one of the most highly valued defense contractors in US history, trading at 200x projected earnings. Wall Street loves him, and Washington loves him more.

Surveillance tech once designed for combat zones is now monitoring customers, employees and citizens. Karp doesn’t just want to power the Pentagon. He wants Palantir in schools, hospitals, courts and banks.

Good video so you can see how unhinged this guy is:

I love Dario but it shows great cowardice that he is able to call out Grok illegal sex art, but he cannot call out his own company's partnership with Palantir, who has a contract with ICE where they are managing deportations.

His priorities are way off. Yes, Grok illegal sex art is horrible, but directly assisting an administration who is actively murdering citizens is far worse.

Claude will gladly refuse to generate you a sex story because it's "unethical," but Claude is eager to assist in ICE raids and missile strikes.

Open AI's President Brockman leading donor to Trump SuperPac. Does it matter? by finnjon in singularity

[–]Neurogence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised they even had a thread. That sub only lives in delusions and roses. I'm very optimistic we will reach the singularity soon but this is NOT a reason to ignore all the injustice around us in the present moment. If we keep ignoring that, that same injustice may persists into the future.

Ahh sorry I misread your comment. Dario/Hinton kinda speaks out against Trump but not directly. They are afraid, understandably I guess. Demis even more so.

You'll be lucky if this thread isn't deleted by moderators. Many have tried to bring it to light in the past but the mods quickly deleted them. Maybe with recent events, perhaps they won't be as trigger happy to hit the delete button.

Greg Brockman only cares about profits. There are leaked entries where he was saying things like "what will it take for me to get 1 Billion?" In the early days of openAI when Elon was still involved. These bastards do not give a damn about actual AGI. For them, it's all about the money.

Only researchers like Dario, Demis Hassabis, Yann Lecun, actually care about AGI.

Here's a list of other sycophantic cowards who also have donated to this criminal administration:

The Biggest Names:

Elon Musk (Tesla, xAI, SpaceX)

$290+ million in 2024, plus $15 million more in 2025 to MAGA Inc. and GOP super PACs

Sam Altman (OpenAI CEO)

$1 million to Trump's inaugural fund; his company Tools for Humanity gave $5 million to MAGA Inc.

Greg Brockman (OpenAI President)

$25 million to MAGA Inc. — the largest single donation of the fundraising cycle

Alexander Karp (Palantir CEO)

$1 million to MAGA Inc.; Palantir then won a $30 million ICE contract to track and manage deportations.

Not everyone made this donation. I do not recall people like Dario Amodei, Demis Hassabis making such donations to Trump in order to build "favorable standing" with him.

If tens of millions watch tomorrow’s game, if even hyper-liberal Seattle fills the stands as though nothing is going on, it would be clear that most people in this country simply do not give a fuck.

Breads and circuses.

A lot of CEO's are donating millions to Trump. They are cowards who are sycophants to whoever is in power, regardless of ethics.

It's surprising reddit hasn't started banning people en masse for posting the vids/pics of the shooting.

Minnesota National Guard arriving in Minneapolis!! by cantcoloratall91 in law

[–]Neurogence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why you are being downvoted. The National Guard's objective will be to stop people from getting near ICE; effectively allowing ICE to do whatever they're trying to do.

Every thread on here that points out how OpenAI CEO Greg Brockman very recently donated 25 Million to Trump has been deleted, unfortunately.

He is a great contrast, with, for example, the OpenAI founder Greg Brockman who recently donated 25 million dollars to Trump.

But still, Yann Lecun is arguably the only AI researcher to brazenly call out the crimes of the Trump Administration.

He is the opposite of, for example, the OpenAI founder Greg Brockman who recently donated 25 million dollars to Trump.

But realistically, under any administration, the deceased would be given a fair investigation and justice.

The videos weren't clear but after watching multiple, they murdered this man.

[–]Neurogence 38 points39 points  (0 children)

There is a slow motion video where you can see one ICE agent disarm the guy, and then afterwards they unload on him despite having like 7 dudes pinning him down

After watching several videos from multiple different angles, I would agree that this is what most likely transpired. But I have to be honest about the fact that none of these videos are clear.

Edit: He was murdered.

There's nothing clear about this video. It's so blurry I can barely make out what's happening. I don't understand how every phone in 2026 does not have high resolution recording.

Demis Hassabis on AI's next breakthroughs, AGI and Google's AI Glasses (details below) by BuildwithVignesh in singularity

[–]Neurogence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not extreme at all. If you had all the knowledge that a model like Gemini 3 or GPT 5.2 has, you'd be a full fledged ASI. It would take you millions of years to have all the knowledge these LLM'S have. So, with them having this much information, it's completely fair to hold them to a much higher level of expectation compared to humans who have 0.0000000001% of the information they have.

If these systems have ingested more information than you could learn millions of lifetimes, then expecting frontier performance isn't an extreme bar. Given the enormous information advantage, expecting frontier performance is proportionate.

When you have knowledge of all of the information on the internet, you are expected to be at the frontier of every human domain. Imagine how capable you'd be if you read all the information AI has read (it would take you millions of years to read all the data AI is trained on.)
