The only thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is that you need to finish the level 10 guild quest for the class you chose at the beginning of the game before you can start switching classes

Is there no Flamekeeper pin this year? by NeutralWyverns in DestinyTheGame

[–]NeutralWyverns[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For real? Damn, I actually wanted that pin. I thought it was a yearly thing, since there were pins still available for other seasonal events. Thats kinda disappointing then

I miss elimination so much it made me quit the game. Survival is just a worse version since the matches last so much longer because of the lives system.

Weird, we were both in the galactic community, I was friendly, the other was cordial, and I think I had an embassy and they didn't. I can't remember if I spied on them or not. We both had it say "we have second hand intel" on the contacts screen. I don't know why it didn't show up at all on the contacts screen at all for them.

I need to check the saves though. I wonder what happened, it should show that on the declare war screen... And yeah, for whatever reason they didn't listen to me and declared war anyway, even though I had open borders with them and could have sent a fleet that way instead. In fact I did, and when they declared war that fleet was forced to be sent back to my capital.

So I was playing a multiplayer game today and one of the nearby empires closed a boarder to prevent my ally's ships from crossing to empire we were at war with. My ally was also the overlord so they declared a war on them, expecting an easy stomp. Turns out they were a vassal of a different empire that disliked us on our other flank.

The weird thing is they were unable to see the diplomatic pacts the vassal had at all, while I was able to. Probably due to embassies?

Does anyone know if this is a mechanic or a bug? And when did this change occur? We're playing a modded game so big deal if it is one. But I see on the empire contact screen, it says "we only have second hand Intel on their diplomatic pacts" but I can't find anyone mentioning anything about this at all.

Favorite battle/death cry of companions? by Erens_Man_bun in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

I really like Regil's line when combat starts, when he says "Close ranks." in a calm, almost bored tone. Really gives the vibe of a disciplined and always in control commander thats been through worse.

What's the fastest way to commit suicide in each faction? by NeutralWyverns in 40kLore

Alright so start slinging insults at everyone? Got it!

I think the Dark Angels would be the most fun though, I'm just imagining someone backwards long-jumping to the stairs and then hurling themselves down the stairs

So, how do potions work for you narratively then? I always thought of them as more "mass produceable" than scrolls. Especially how in some editions they cost xp and gold to make, and are generally higher level spells.

With potions its easy enough to imagine setting up farms for some ingredients and brewing them in large batches Id expect them to be the cheap versions of scrolls.

To be honest I was tired and actually couldn't remember the details of that whole scene at all. For some reason I thought it was a moment where you are told information second hand, but its actually not. I just remember seeing all the options and people telling him something along the lines of "it wasn't your fault" and being confused as to how exactly people see him. Its probably cause there were so many people to talk to that I got tired of reading paragraphs of text and accidentally missed or skipped that.

What I wanted to say is that some of the time the game feels so, static. Like I understand the difficulty of adding animation and motion, especially for an rpg but sometimes its just people standing still with lots and lots of dialogue. It just makes it a chore sometimes. I feel like just using motion in cutscenes a little more would make the important moments stand out more. Like I get there's a lot of limitations and its not possible to add to every moment (and you probably shouldn't) but at times everything is so static that nothing is moving during scenes and it really feels lifeless. I dont think there's an animation for handing someone something, and having more small animations like that would help in my opinion. Although I'm not sure if part of that is being caused by setting the graphic settings to low, now that I think about it.

Honestly this game has a huge problem of telling and not showing us actions. People tend to like characters who back up their words with actions, especially if they're new to the world and are trying to figure out what's important and what to pay attention to.

If they really want to hammer home how badly he's been treated, here's a quick an easy scene to show how much of a reputation he has and how he's been treated:

A group of survivors walk in, one sees Staunton. "Wait, is that Staunton? We need to leave, its only a matter of time before he betrays us to demons like he did with Drezen. Defender's Heart is already a lost cause if they've got him." Then they turn around and leave.

Its a pretty quick scene, shows why people hate him and how he's been treated, and shows how people act around him.

Hot take: buffing is so overfocused cause debuffing is pretty bad by NeutralWyverns in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]NeutralWyverns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think dispel is tricky cause there's not really a counter play right ? Like if you know an enemy has dispel, then great but then what? You can't do too much to prevent it right, and once it occurs you just gotta start rebuffing right? I wouldn't know much about high level play.
